Played Friday morning at 9am. Play was fairly slow but I wasn't in too much of a hurry. Greens and fairways were being aerated so not your 'dream' conditions but it was still fun and challenging. Greens were still fast. Love the course. Great deal for the local rate.

Played 7/29/06 - twilight, as much as i like Torrey Pines, there is no MARSHAL, play is so slow, 5 1/2 hours or longer. My group had to say something to the golfers ahead nad then some to others in the fairway. I see the MARSHAL hanging around the starter most of the time, but nowhere to be seen on the course. Wake up and smell the coffee. Your service SUCKS big time.

Played on June 25th at 12:00. The pace of play was 5 hours but seemed to be longer because it seemed like we waited on every shot. The group ahead of us had a caddie (who drove in a cart while the players walked????), what's up with that. I thought the greens were in great shape. The fairways are drying up a bit so there are a couple of bare spots. The rough is patchy, some spots are a little buried and others you may catch a break. Not sure of the sand b/c I wasn't in it and the tee boxes were good as well. Excellent value for a S.D. resident.

TP North is in decent shape. The greens were medium-slow, the fairways fairly lush, and the sand traps consistent, but containing fairly little sand. The pace of play was terrible. It still appears that the South Course has not yet recovered from all the ongoing maintenance.

Played May 21st, got on at 3:45 Twilight. Before we hit the 1st ball the fairway was open for at least 20 minutes, no one was teeing off. Then we got behind a 4some and they were so slow, no MARSHAL to be seen, the cart girl showed up several times though. Players assistance is big fat 000000000000000000000. CUstomer service is also in question. As much as they charge it should be 2nd to none for CUSTOMER SERVICE. Torrey Pines is ZERO. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Just played on April 29th, and it was a treat. Signed up for some sort of golf package and one of the course pros accompanied our foursome for the first five holes. It was helpful as she was able to provide some insight on the course layout and roll of the greens. Pace of play was somewhat slow (5hrs). That was mostly due to it being a Saturday, but I didn't mind as the scenery was gorgeous. Played from the back tees and the course proved to be a real bear. I was very happy with the conditions, the only gripe I would have would be that the rough was very, very forgiving. There was really no penalty for missing the fairway. The staff was very friendly, top notch country club. A must-play for those interested.

Greens needs another week for the aeration to take hold, fairways were in good conditions and the pace of play was faster than than you would expect on the weekend.

Overall good condition. Played very slow & had to wait on almost every hole. Other than that it was great. Usually plays faster. Greens OK a little bumpy.
