The fairways are just a little long, not bad. Greens are really coming back now. Best I have seen in quite a while. There is a lot of grass on them now. They played at a medium pace today. The conditions are improving every month. The rough is back on most of the holes. It’s thick in many places and you must keep a real good eye on your errant shot or you could lose it in a heartbeat. Worth the green fee with the city resident rate now, but the visitor rate so so.

Worth the local rates, but not the visitor rate, but the improvement was remarkable. Good Job to the Super & greenskeeper.

Saw huge improvement. Especially the fairways and sand traps are in great condition now. Greens still need work. They turned the place into an enjoyable golf course for the City Am.

greens have mostly recovered from aeration, but they still don't look like greens someone might expect at a course that charges $100+ for green fees. fortunately, they seem to play better than they look. the greens on the north course have still not been aerated (as of 8/13) and generally look nicer than the greens on the south course.

i stayed at the hotel about a year ago and the course looked in GREAT shape...but i guess it has really turned to garbage...amazing home of the 2008 US Open..have some fixin' up to do

The scenery is great. But that's about it. Greens are crappy and the place definetly needs Marshall's attention. I played this course several times now and pace of play sucked every single time. It seems to me that there are a lot of folks who think they can take as long as they want to since they paid big bucks.

If you find the conditions to be so repulsive (and they are very difficult at this time), why on earth do you belong to the TP Men's Club????

As a fellow TP Men's Club member, I played TP South on Thursday July 21, and experienced the same conditions. We all knew this was coming, as the maintenance schedule is clearly printed on the TP website. Was it difficult to play well that day? You betcha....BUT, we all had to play the same course.

Listen...you have a choice in this. If you do not want to play, DON'T SIGN UP FOR THE EVENTS. Allow someone else the opportunity to take your place. For that matter, maybe you should examine your desire to remain a men's club member.

I, for one, would be happy to hear less complaining about conditions, and more creative solutions offered to the course management. Every week I hear from some other men's club member how much they hate the course and it's condition. Fine.....don't let the door hit you on your way to Balboa Park !!!!!

Long lines to pay. Rude, out of control staff. I have never seen a golf course in worst condition or more poorly managed. The good thing was I only paid $25. Senior/resident/mensclub. It wasn't worth even that. Stay away!
