The course is in pretty good shape right now. Greens look bumpy, but are actually pretty smooth. Fairways are really firm which helps a bunch on those long par 4s. The rough is cut pretty short at about 2 inches and isn't too penalizing. Overall, a very good round. Torrey South is in pretty good shape. Well worth it to play.

greens sanded and aerated; fairways aerated, loose grass all over rough. had to move dirt clods out of way to hit ball on fairways. another gift to the men's club.

Played quick due to rainy weather. (Not crowded) Good value at local rates, visitor rates no. Better value at other top courses in area. Greens are getting better. Still pretty recent to the Buick, but just maybe the city won't let it go to seed between tournaments this year. One can only hope.

I played both the North and the South courses this week (right after the Buick Invitational) and both courses are in wonderful shape--especially considering the shape the course was in just a few months ago.

It was fun to play the course when the tents and bleachers were still around.

Looks like they are trying to take this great course and maintain it. It is a shame the city allows the condition of the course to decline except for just prior to the Buick and the Junior Worlds. At ... Continue »

Played 1-5-2005 Greens finally getting better, slow but at least they have some grass now. Nobody out there! 2 holes open in front 3 behind. Weird, played in 4 hr. 5 min. Started at 8:00 am. Fairways are in good shape. Rough... some spots out there you needed snow shoes on to get around. Watch were you ball goes, mark it well and you might just find it in the rough.
