Teed off @ 1:00. Greens were SLOW, Grainy, & hard as a ROCK! On three ocassions I hit PW to the middle of the green & thye bounced over. I never got the speed down. I enjoyed everything but the greens. The greens need to be punched, watered heavily, & then vertca-cut. Its too bad because I remembered them as being pretty fast. Won't go out of my way to play the course for a while.

This winter has not been kind to Woods Valley in comparison to other courses near by. Guess they didn't overseed and it isn't very green. Wet fairways that create difficulties in shots.

This winter has not been kind to Woods Valley in comparison to other courses near by. Guess they didn't overseed and it isn't very green. Wet fairways that create difficulties in shots.

Greens are in pretty poor conditions where it looks like they allowed players to go out before the frost cleared. Also...not rotating the holes enough to where near the holes there is a lot of wear.

I will revisit during spring with hopes of better conditions.

Played 10/20 ans was very imressed wih Woods Valley GC. They seem weeks ahead of other courses in terms of conditions. The greens are good speed and roll very true (almost no ball marks), the fairways were great to hit off. As for the course, you have to hit it straight! If you don't, you will shoot a million. The landing areas are quite small, so don't be afraid to hit shorter clubs off the tee to get the ball in play. The par 3's are not long, but all require forced carries over hazards. The front nine is flatter and longer and the back nine has more elevation changes. No.'s 9 and 18 are closing par 5's which are a really good holes. No. 15 is a longish par 4, with a tee shot set back in the trees and a view that makes it feel like a major tournament hole. All in all, a very good course that I will be back to play soon. Pace of play was good and weather was perfect. Great job Woods Valley GC.

If they could get the High School Girls team to move along it woulda been a perfect afternoon. Just kidding, sort of, they were having a good time. Will return soon.

Posting this in case anyone might be going to W.V. thinking its in OK shape. Stayed at Harrahs, wanted a quick round and knew that the back 9 was open for play. For $25 you can play back 9 all day. It isnt in very good shape tee to green, new grass hasnt taken hold, but it is playable and there are areas of sturdy grass to place ball if a bad lie occurs, which is almost every shot. The greens are "PERFECT". Smooth and fast. I would wait till end of Sept if a regular round is what you are after. If you want to practice on course, and like really nice greens, this is the place. I will wait. I really like W.V. and hope this new turf takes hold.

Had 9:57 tee time but driving range was closed as they were punching it so we teed off 30 minutes early. Why they were punching the driving range at 9:15 in the morning is beyond me & I was put off by the attitude of the starter....pretty much it is what is is. No I am sorry etc.

Course was in decent shape...not much grass in #11 fairway& a few bare spots elsewhere. I was in two traps...one was quite wet. The tee boxes were good as were the greens. They are putting a lot of water on the course. Challenging course that will only get better as it matures. Good deal for Seniors at $35 including cart.

Played W.V. Tuesday twilight and Wed early AM, Course is in much better shape than last time here. Greens are fast and smooth and hold shots. Fairways are almost back to great, Everything else is very nice. Staff is always on top of things. We always will play here if in the area. Fun course, very good layout.
