I played a twilight round here last week after work and I don't think I will be going back. We almost got in a fist fight with some awesome sleeveless shirt wearing badasses with mullets over a tee off dispute. They seemed to think they could tee off before us because they paid first even though we were at teh tee box 5 minutes before them waiting on the group in front of us. My group made our tee time 3 days prior and these guys had no tee time. I swear the self entitlement in Southern California is a bit much sometimes. After hashing it out with them for a few minutes we grabbed the starter and he didn't offer much help. So I am loving this place before we even tee off. We noticed no one was making the turn and there was no one on the back 9 and we were already waiting for the front 9. We decided to let the honkies tee off and we hit the back 9. I will say that we started the front 9 and the guys that were in such a hurry to tee off hadn't even made it to hole 7 yet. Karma is a b$tch isn't it.

Alright to the course now. The course was ridiculous. The ponds smelled like dirty feet and sulfur. I noticed dead fish and frogs on the shores of the ponds. I felt bad for the poor balls I hit in there. It looks like they use amateur mowers for this whole course. The greens were fairly good but the tee boxes and fairways need some work. The greens are plush and slow. The traps were decent. The only thing I like about this course is the layout. All the lakes on the back 9 are awesome. Hole 16 is awesome too. Par 5 over with a risk and reward over a lake on your 2nd shot. Fun hole.

I am sad to say the bad out weighed the good at Camarillo Springs so I will leave this course to dudes whole like rip golf cart brodies in their sleevless shirts and take my money else where.

Played a twilight ten holes today and the course is recovering from nicely from some late season storms that destroyed some trees and left some fairways in bad shape (the fairway in #7 and short of the green on #9 still have some ground under repair). Other than that the fairways seemed to be lush with the occasional bare spot.....slightly better than average for this time of year. All in all the course is in typical spring time condition with the exception of the greens which seem to be in better shape and running smoother than usual. The service as usual was quite friendly and nice.

Decent course if you stay on the fairway. Anything off the fairway and you have a great chance of losing your ball. Even a couple inches off the fairway.

Played on Tues 3/29. Good news is that the greens were in the best condition I have even experienced there, and the majority of the tee box's were in very good shape. Teed off a little after noon, and course was wide open. Staff was very friendly as usual. Bad news is course suffered greatly from recent storms.Parts of many fairways are still a muddy mess, and quite a bit of casual water build up off of several holes. Cart path under tunnel to 7-9 was a river as was most of the cart path on those holes. With high temps this week, and no rain in forecast, course should be in great shape next week when dried out, and downed trees are removed.

Played in a 2 man BB event. Lost to the home team. I like the layout. Tee boxes and fairways are not in good condition. Tees are uneven and sparse, fairways are hard, with bare spots. From the fairways the greens appear bigger but up close are smaller and surrounded by kikuyu which should be putted from. This course has a reputation of sloppy, muddy after rain. But after dry santa ana wind condtions the course is not any better.

I played this course in the first group out on Wednesday. It looks to be shaping up nice! The conditions were on the wet side but that’s to be expected on a July morning when watering is required daily. The greens that had been cut ran smooth, medium speed and held shot great. The fairways were mostly lush as was the rough. Looks like they had cut the rough down recently and from reading some of the older reviews that was a good thing! Even with 2 to 3 inch rough, your ball seems to always sit down in it. The rough is mostly kikuya/bermunda blend so beware! Tee boxes were mostly lush – some not level – but overall good. Sand traps were well maintained. When playing this course brings lots of balls…water, ob and when the rough is deep can gobble them up. The clubhouse is small, they have a nice chipping area and practice putting green. The range is let down although – small and hitting off mats. If the conditions stay this way or improve, I see myself playing out here again soon.

Played on dawn patrol with JohnnyGK. It's tough to rate and judge when you start out playing a few greens with dew on them and then get freshly mowed greens. On all the greens after they were mowed, they really rolled nice. Sand traps well maintained. Tees were mostly lush/well maintained, a couple they were working on/watering. Numerous areas of the fairways were being heavily watered as we played, so that bodes well for players in the immediate future. The rough is grown up in many spots and can be quite punitive in the places that are grown up, especially in the A.M. when wet. Pro Shop and maintenance staff are always very friendly and efficient here.
