Played Saturday 12/16 in windy, showery conditions and found the Canyon Crest / Ridgeline combo to be in excellent condition. There are still a few areas of patchy sod here and there, particularly around #6 green on Canyon, but these areas are in play and the new grass is knitting in well. These nines are definitely back and in great shape. The greens were sensational as usual, and the bunkers are looking good and playing nicely too. It's great to see Moorpark come back after a tough time, and it is absolutely back!

Of all the area golf courses I find Moorpark CC a fair yet the most challenging track to play. I love the way you can mix up your options with the three nines playing one or the other as your front nine or back nine. I play mostly during the mid week and enjoy the opportunity for faster play time and great values with there special rates. I book my tee times on line and get an additional $10 off. I have to admit they have a couple of holes that really beat me up but I birdied Ridge #5 and got a little redemtion. One more thing there restaurant food is the best! Moorpark CC is my #1 pick in Ventura Co.

in this area. I would recommend playing here to all my friends. Try making your tee time online...I think it's discounted.

I lost a dozen of ball here again, but had wonderful time. I played on Thanksgiving Day with no holiday rate which was a great deal. I expected a slow play, but it took 4/1/2 hours which I thought normal. Almost all staffs were very nice and I saw enough rangers to make players alert to get right pace. Everytime I play here, I'm so amazed about the conditions of greens and how well layout of golf courses. I played two months ago and I was so disappointed about fairway in result of summer heat. I am so gratful this golf course has it's perfect condition again. I'm sure this golf course will be maintain always as now. I tried lunch for the first time and I found the one of greatest Japanese style udong. I'm so picky about noodle suffs, but this udong is same taste as my favorite place in downtown LA. Anyway, thanks for the great price and quality and I really enjoy comming here.

It's good to see this golf course as it used to be. I haven't played here for last couple of months and heard very negative comments about the fairways due to unusual heat during summer time. I can see how the management of this golf course put their all efforts to bring back marvelous condition of fairways. The greens and tees are still the best among all others that I ever played. Keep the good work!

Played Moorpark CC (Canyon Crest and Ridgeline) for the first time as a two-some, 10/25, 10:00 am tee time. A lot of positives and I'll save the negative 'til last. Beautiful, interesting course that wraps around and through the hills with a lot of elevation changes -- some of them dramatic. We were generally impressed with it as an upscale layout. There was a large outing going off at twelve, but would be only be using one of the nines we used, plus the third nine (Creekside) which we didn't, so by the time the group started we were off Canyon Crest and never had to deal with them. Consequently, it was like having a private club to ourselves. The two of us were the only ones on the driving range warming up, and except for a single who caught and past us on the 8th hole, we never had anyone behind to press us. We did not play well, so the lack of additional pressure was appreciated. Kept wondering about our good fortune in getting the place virtually to ourselves. The Ridgeline Course had recently been overseeded and the greens punched, but the punch holes were well along in healing. The residual sanding on some of the affected the roll on a few holes, but on most it was a non-issue. Generally the greens were good and reasonably fast, clean and true. On top of everything else, they knocked $5 off the online registration fee due to the maintenance work, which brought the price down to $55 per, including cart (no walking allowed). A great bargain for this kind of course. The major negative was wet fairways. As a result, carts on cartpaths only which is more work than simpley walking -- although as someone who usually walks, this course does require the cart. But I don't understand why the watering has to be done at a time and to a degree that you are frequently hitting off a wet, sloppy lie in the middle of a warm sunny day when there has been no recent rain. I don't get it and it was the singular disappointment about the day. Otherwise, I recommend the course. If you can get a price break it's a steal.
