The couese is very forgiving. Wide in most spots with a couple of tricky tee shots. Pretty nice greens as well. Great for the price!!!Get there early, it fills up around 8 or 9!!!

The pro shop staff thinks they're smarter than they really are..and some can be pretty cocky. They need to be reminded that they are working at a muni course - so everybody that comes thru the door is a member. In a nutshell, the customer service blows, but its a good track for the price.

More than one time I have been a single and watch two or three threesomes go off the first tee.

Played Sunday (6.18) ... Great day of golf!
Course is in excellent condition, staff was helpful and courteous, and best of all, BBQ sandwich was fabulous!

Played Olivas Today.

First, it was a lovely 75 degrees. I love this course in the middle of summer. A bit windy, but given fairways you can land a small passenger aicraft on, no big deal. As many know, this is a course big hitters can really let it rip.

Overall the course is in excelent shape except for a few greens and the practice green where there are some ball marks.

A few wet spots, but really, the best deal for a hot day!

Course was in pretty good condition (excellent for a muni), but not as good as 2 months back. Some patches of nasty bare spots were showing up, but the GK crew had them all marked as ground under repair. This condition was NOT prevalent throughout the course. Sand traps were consistent. Greens rolled fairly quick and smooth. Some of the par 3 tee boxes were getting a bit chewed up and 13 still has a ridge running straight down the middle. While Olivas may be a few bucks more than the LA City courses, there is just no comparison in the quality of the playing conditions. Olivas is a good value and a great place to break in the new King Cobra Driver!! : )

Great course to work out the kinks with the long clubs. I have not seen a muni with better fairways and greens than Olivas. The ball sat up nicely on every fairway and only the green on #11 showed any brown spots (and then, only in a few small areas). I look forward to playing again.
