Sunday afternoon twighlight round. 2-3 club wind makes upwind holes a challenge. Good place to practice your wind game as afternoons have a consistent 15 knot breeze. 3:50 off done at 7:40 - walking, no real hangups except on island hole waiting for iddiots hitting their "bag balls" in the lake, and finally figuring out they did not have the game to get there from 185 yards with a 3+ club wind.

Course is in good shape with few areas in fairways marked G.U.R. Boxes OK, few chewed up. Greens in great shape, fast on front side, little slower on back where protected from wind. Range is chewed up as usual, only real complaint about course is their attempt to allow golfers to hit off of grass that is not maintained very well.

Cowboys practice facility off of 9 looks like a city built up out of no where - tents, buses, television trucks...very surreal.

Played Wed 7/19 in the morning as a single. The range is very beat up. Very little grass to hit off. Mostly dirt and old divots. After an hour + of waiting I heard them call a threesome to the first tee. They forgot about the singles list. I went in to remind them and they had apparently just changed shifts and the new person didn't know what the other person had going. They sent me back to the range, only to call me back once I got there to go catch the threesome that had just teed off. Pretty poor customer service from that perspective. There was no beverage cart out that day either. As for the course itself, it's one of my favorites. It was in OK shape for the most part, with lots of dirt patches in some fariways (marked as ground under repair at least). The greens were especially nice. The tee boxes could use some TLC, as many are uneven and there is a lot of divot damage on the par 3's. I still recommend this course highly, even though the customer service was off the day I went.

Played the afternoon of 7/16. With the exception of some "gurs" in the fairways the course was in good shape. Greens were fast and smooth but held shots into them. The wind was not from the usual direction which made for some interesting adjustments for shots. Looks like they are handling the heat conditions well as far as the course condition goes. Still like this course.

Played on Saturday July 1st in afternoon. All putts in our group were bouncing on the green even though greens were quick, really weird combination. Fairways were dry and were rolling hard and fast. Pace was slow for this course, played a 5 hour 15 minute round.

Played afternoon of July 2nd after the City tournament wrapped up. Only got in the front side but course is in decent shape, a few thin areas in the fairways, greens nice, more firm than usual - most likely for the tournament, so you need to leave 1/2 - full club short for ball release, particularly down wind. They have a great Jr program where a Jr and adult playing with Jr get a $6 each rate after twilight - great way to develop young golfers - too bad other courses don't offer a similar program. This course is one of the best run muni's around great value and good conditions and the course gets tough in the afternoon wind.

Played June 17, 7am. By #5, searching for non-existent sunglasses in my bag. Wind from the west was a surprising change. The course is settling into summer conditions – fairways running firmer, greens running very pure and true – did not ask the stimp but they are running nicely.
Get used to packed greenside bunkers [I’ve visited #7/11/12/13 lately] and do not think this will change much going forward.
Rough is typical RR – low but if you’re in it, you are out of position and playing longer yardage or a bad angle. Summer heat will continue to dry out fairways and make the course more links style [especially with the unusual June weather] - 15/16/18 are not going to get much greener as summer wears on.
By next month’s Oxnard City, the course will probably play tougher than last year. They could get the greens to go as fast with no trouble and this year the greens seems to bake out much earlier in the day. Afternoon tee times could be a challenge. It’s fun to play a course often and see the personality change with the seasons.

The marshals do hurry you and watch you. Smell of the farms around the course is not the best. Players somtimes don't fix the divots on the green. I had to fix at least 9 of them. Fairways are well kept but hard to distinguish which way the fairway is directed. Some times you can not tell the difference from the fairway and the rough.

Greens were healing from aerating and were a bit slow from what I was used to at RR, Fairways had some bare spots and they were aerating some of the tee boxes. Played a 4 hour round, no one in front us, no cart girl and previous post was right, no water except Hole 7 tee and hole 13 tee. I recommend this course if you want to work on your wind game and shots going up hill and downhill.
