Called and made Ttimes and asked how much it will be. When we got there they charged us an additional $10 saying that good friday is a holiday, which it isnt, so they had to charge more. Even though they quoted a different price on the phone. Everybody still has to work and banks are open so how is it a holiday and why not say so on the phone. It put a sour taste in all our mouths then they pulled us off the course before it was even dark. Could have finished the last 2 holes. We'll never spend anymore money there. I'm not a drinker but fyi they dont sell mixed drinks. Beer is the only alchohol. And they watch everybody from the clubhouse with binoculars like we're criminals. Never going back. Its a shame too because it is a fun and challenging course which happens to be very beautiful right now in the spring. Lots o roll on fairways and greens.

Played Monday morning. Course is in great condition. Tee boxes were leveled. Fairways were alittle hard. Traps were not as fluffy. Greens rolled true. Some pin placements were tough. If you don't have the right speed and it will roll roll roll away. Winds picked up alittle in the back. Pace of play was okay, was behind a 4some that took their time. We had some pro's in back of us, but they weren't pressing us too much. Overall was a beautiful day in moorpark. Though my round was horrible, it was awesome to spend on Monday here.

little patience needs to be practiced for some golfers who are: A. Riding carts. B. Playing the white tees and C. should be looking ahead seeing that there are groups in front and nowhere to go.

While the greens are excellent overall, the poa annual is beginning to make them bumpy later in the day. This can make putts an adventure as they start losing their speed around the hole. My advice would be to firm in the short putts to keep them online, otherwise a lot of short ones may be missed.

The fairways are almost always superb and the traps seem really improved over several months ago. Ongoing reconstruction of the main drainage area running the length of the course through the gorge seems like it is nearing completion.

The outer rough bordering the native areas is coming back to the way it was in the prefire days, meaning that stepping on your ball may be the best way of finding wayward shots that escape the fairway or main rough.

Played morning 3/3. Weather report said windy in the morning and dying off in the late afternoon the night before and boy it was WRONG. About six holes into the round, consistent 15 mile hour winds. At the turn, winds picked up to almost 30 mph with gusts above 40 mph. Truly a different experience to play in such windy conditions. Course conditions were great. Fairways were firm providing a lot of roll of drives. Greens firm and fast, which made it impossible to keep the ball on the green with approach shots or even some putts in such windy conditions. Missed five footers had the potential to be blown off the green by wind gusts. Love the course, hate the wind. Finished the round in under 4 hours. Definitely will be back when it is less windy.

If you haven't tried Rustic Canyon yet, do so. A very unique layout and an enjoyable day. But if it is windy, pick another day. The course is in exceptional condition right now.

Played twilight 2/25. Course was in GREAT condition. Greens in perfect shape, medium to fast speed, held shots well and were great to putt on. Tee boxes level, fairways great, speed of play awesome. Nice new driving range with a nice little new putting/chipping area. Staff friendly. The only real complaint is to possible place some new/real sand in areas left of #15, short and right of #17, left of #11 in waste bunker or you can continue to look at those places as a natural waste area and that you should not be in there in the first place...just my two cents.

Played twilight, 2/25. Considering the weekend rains, conditions were excellent. Walked from the tips in 4 1/2 hours. A few traps needed raking after being flooded, but the extensive reconstruction of the wash area appears to leave the course less vulnerable to heavy rains than before. Greens were medium fast, firm and consistent. Fairways and tees were excellent as usual. The Pro Shop is well stocked and manned by professional, attentive personnel who do a good job of getting people out and keeping the play moving.
