Played last Monday (3/24/25). This course is hard to figure out, it has very nice greens and bunkers, but the fairways are junk. On 99% of the holes there is awash on the right side and fairway slopes that way. Paid $30.00 to walk and that's about it's worth. The staff is great, and the club house is nice, but I don't think I will be back.

Pre-Bowling outing with 20 of us. Course was very busy so our first group was delayed about 15 minutes but the starter was keeping everyone informed of the delay and announcing the tee box groups. I did not realize this was the Desert Rose course that I played many moons ago but it closed down a few years ago and re-opened as Sunrise. Course was in great shape, I like to putt on the desert type greens and these greens were in very good shape, faster than they felt and looked but you still needed to be aggressive. Tee boxes were fine, easy to find a nice spot to put your peg in. Fairways rewarded you with a decent lie. Rough was from an inch up to some spots over 4 inches. If you avoid the gully that runs through the course you will score well. I only found the gully once and I paid for it with a triple bogey after dropping my ball and watching it disappear in the long rough. I would recommend this course to anyone, our choices were limited due to the vast majority of courses in the Las Vegas area being in the midst of the fall maintenance. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice grass range to warm up and large putting area.

Played on Memorial Day, Monday, 5/31. I was able to join my buddy's teachers group on a busy day. Even on a very busy day, we finished in exactly 4 hours with waiting on a majority of tee boxes.

Played on Memorial Day, Monday, 5/31. I was able to join my buddy's teachers group on a busy day. Even on a very busy day, we finished in exactly 4 hours with waiting on a majority of tee boxes.

Conditions were interesting considering what I usually experience here. Tee boxes were in great shape. The rough is up in some areas and short in others, definitely not high enough to stop balls from rolling into the ever-present "ditch" running down the right of all but 3 holes. Bunkers looked good but I was not in 1 all day and didn't hear any complaints from the others. As also, the greens were incredible. Smooth and medium fast, and living up to their reputation as the "Best Greens in Vegas." The paspalum (same as Kiawah) greens have a different feel to them, look thick, and is difficult to leave a ball mark. The fairways were the only issue. Every hole had a spot or 3 where it was thin or hard-pan, but most had 90% or so coverage. It seems the paspalum has started creeping away from the greens and into the fairways, mostly around the greens. Chipping on it is a different feel than Bermuda or Rye.

Service was great. Super friendly pro shop, bar/grill, and outdoor staff. Drink cart was around twice and the marshal was around 5-6 times. Marshal carried a large cooler of water bottles, which is nice as I decided to walk and he kept checking on me.

Played Sunday, 9/20, high school buddy's group had an opening for a 4th. Course was busy but we got out just before the Men's Club and finished in just over 3.5 hours.

Played Sunday, 9/20, high school buddy's group had an opening for a 4th. Course was busy but we got out just before the Men's Club and finished in just over 3.5 hours.

Course is in beautiful shape. Tee boxes are crowned just a bit on the edges, but lots of flat areas. Fairways are lush, but a handful have some thin areas a couple GUR. Rough is cut about 1-2 inches, I wish it was a bit longer to hold up the ball from rolling down into the ditch (talking some 30-40 yards of roll in some areas). The greens are fantastic. The paspalum looks lush and thick, but rolls smooth and medium/fast, picking up speed as the day went along and they started to dry. When wet, the paspalum just kills the ball, making low runners just die.

Yes, it's a muni, but it's a well taken care of muni in excellent shape. Incredible price for locals, $32 weekday, $39 weekend. All grass range and large putting green. Also has a short game area.

C-19: must pay online, no paying at the course; single rider carts, walking allowed (same price); bar/grill area closed (forgot to ask if they were opening since NV restrictions are lifted tomorrow), but drink cart is out and about.

Played on Thursday, 8/6, with a pre-7am round. Course was empty just prior, then a busy period around the time we went off. Played with a high school buddy, his friend, and his friend's beginner friend. Finished in about 3:40 with 3 carts and a walker.

Anytime you talk Sunrise, you talk about the greens. They are excellent and live up to the self-proclamation as the "best greens in Vegas." No signs of the aeration 3 weeks ago, just smooth as glass and close to fast. Surprising, this is the first time I've seen a few ball marks. Bunkers looked good. Rough was pretty low around the left side and along the top of the wash which is always on the right. Fairways were mostly great, but some had standing water and about half had GUR because of it (especially on the back 9). Tee boxes were in good shape, especially on the par 3s. There's some maintenance being done along the wash on both sides, but was away from normal landing areas.

The Club at Sunrise is always a fun, relaxing round but has some bite with holes 9-11. The grill is currently closed but there is a drink cart on the course.

Played sunrise 7/6/20 with a 7:30 start to get out before the real heat settled in. Even though this course is in an older part of Vegas, it is well worth playing. Very reasonable prices and pace of play was great at just over 3 and a half hours.

Like every other clubhouse in Vegas, you can't go in without a mask. Single rider carts for everyone too, unless you live in the same household.

I love these greens! They are the most consistent I've ever played. I wish I would have hit a few putts before going out though. One of my playing partners did and said it was exactly the same.

Fairways were in great shape, bunkers were well groomed (no rakes though) but were a little crusty/hard, and tee boxes were level and not full of divots. Some of the tee boxes on the back were a bit scruffy, but not terrible, except for #11 which looked like it had some weeds trying to take over.

Course maintenance is supposed to start tomorrow, but you wouldn't know it.

Played on Friday, 10/18 with John_T. We made a very last minute decision to play and luckily found a 7ish tee time for $39 (with a $10 food credit) on their site late Thursday night. It was still very dark when we pulled into the parking lot. Checked in and we were told we could follow the 1st group if we were ready after they go at 1st sign of light. We teed off about 20 minutes early and finished in just over 2 1/2 hours.

Some new things at the The Club: 1. They flipped the 9s so you start next to the clubhouse and finish on the par 3 on the other side of the clubhouse. This is to avoid frost delays this winter as the old front 9 is more shaded and gets the morning light later. I think the last 3 times I've played here I started on the old 10th/new 1st so no difference to me. Routing wise: It allows you to ease into the round with the most difficult holes stacked in the middle, the new 8-12 are the most difficult holes, at least for me. 2. Carts now have GPS with center green yardage. They will be adding the feature to order food from it to pick up at the turn.

Course has exited the maintenance period VERY LUSH! Tee boxes a bit long. Fairways were carpet like. I know they advertise the greens as the best in the Valley but the bunkers are near the top too. A little heavy but very loose and nice to hit from. The rough was just gnarly. I'm thinking they keep it Bermuda and it was just thick and nasty, except the side hills have been cut down. The Greens. They lived up to the expectations. Surprisingly though, a few ball marks on the first few holes, the first I've seen here. Glass like smooth, and the speed picked up as the sun warmed up.

Afterwards, took advantage of the food credit and enjoyed a great breakfast. All around service was great. They also added a drink cart to the rotation.

As always, The Club is a fun course to play. It can be easy, but if you go right, you're in for an adventure and scrambling for a score.

I'll just start by saying, I love these greens. They were slow, but consistent throughout. I can't recall seeing a single ball mark the whole day. The tee boxes were flat and well maintained. Fairways only had a few, minor, brown spots. Although my game didn't allow me to follow this advice, stay to the left on nearly every hole. Shots down the right side will leave you down in the wash, and in my case quite a few times even in the water.
Definitely worth the green fee.

Played a GK Guru round on Thursday, 6/20 with John_T. Teed off at 12:10, finished at 3 on a warm and very windy day.

Course was in excellent shape, especially considering how warm it's been the last few weeks. Tee boxes were level, minus the few that had the markers on the front of the box. Fairways were incredible, lush, with beautiful mow lines. They are growing the rough up, at least compared to when I played in February. Bunkers were decent, with light sand that was easy to escape. Greens lived up to their billing as the best in the Valley. Smooth, absolutely no ball marks to repair, but running at a slower than usual speed.

Customer service was great. I had a hot dog and home made chips prior to the round.

Overall, the course was playing a bit slower than normal, with minimum roll on the fairways and slower greens. They have some excellent summer deals that are hard to pass on, especially in the afternoon if you can handle the heat.
