Played the Pinnacle Course yesterday morning. It was a beautiful day on a great course. Tee time was at 7:15. The staff was very organized in keeping both courses on time. I was grouped with a threesome of guys who had some local knowledge about the course and that was helpful on many holes. We didn't see much of the group in front of us, nor the group behind us, so it was a nice pace. Round took a little over four hours.

I really enjoyed the course and the facilities. Everything was nicely maintained. The course itself is a fun and challenging layout, but super challenging. I found the fairways to be pretty forgiving and the greens are pretty accessible. If you keep your ball in play here, you can score low. The course was in great shape overall. Lush fairways and rough. Sand traps all seemed nice. Greens a bit firm and hard to hold some approaches, but rolled smooth and true. I was putting lights out yesterday, so something about the greens really suited my eye.

Not sure I would pay full rack rate to play here again, but still a great course worth playing if you haven't already. Look forward to someday playing the Monument, as well.

Played on Monday afternoon and called at the last minute and got a 1:00 time but I played by myself and got stuck behind a whole bunch of 4somes so there was no where to go for me. Finished in 5 hours 15 minutes. I played here before they switched the 9s. Course was in very good shape. I thought the greens would be faster but I was short all day. There were ball marks which players hadn't repaired but I can't fault the course for that. I don't believe the greens are very tricky. Fairways were in great shape and seemed like people did fill in their fair share of divots. The rough was thicker but I guess here in the desert the real rough is the desert. The sand was good too but I was only in one bunker but they all looked consistent. Great facility, big driving range with grass. Next to the range is a little chipping green. Big putting green too. I did see the marshal out and cart girl out quite a few times. There is water coolers out there (thank god) to fill up and boy did I need everyone one of them coolers. I paid $140 which is the rack rate, I could have gotten it for cheaper had I known. Not sure it's worth that rate but I'd include this in my rotation but would probably space it out as I did like the course.

I must first say that I have played both courses many times, being a Troon card holder. I have always enjoyed the conditioning and the setup of both Pinnacle and Monument. We called the day of play for a last minute tee time, managed to get a 12:26, no mention of a frost delay. When we arrived we were told they were 40 minutes behind, fine, off at 1:10. The group ahead of us spent the day looking for balls and giving lessons on the course. There was not a Marshall on the course, Really! Pressed all day, no where to go, 2 holes open in front of them. Is this Troon Management? No cart service after 6 and you don't go back to the clubhouse at the turn. With Troon courses dropping and the service being questionable, this will be my last Troon card renewal.

Played 12/5/11. Had 10am tee time but was delayed due to light snow covering the course for 30 minutes or so. It cleared up quickly and they sent us out after 30 min delay.
Maybe due to colder than normal temp recently fairways were good but a bit on the thin side. Also the greens looked good but again on a little thin side and the speed was more medium than fast. Other than those small nit picks, no complaints at all. Staff all very friendly, great course and good views. Would like to go back late spring and see how the course plays under warmer conditions.

Played on Sunday July 10. The course was in immaculate shape. The fairways a very good but there is no rough - this is a true desert course. There are many fairway bunkers so you will have make sure you get the right club for the right distance. The greens are true and not nearly as fast as they look.

One bad thing about the fairways - at least on the day I played - is that they were watering adn so the fairways had some places that were too wet.

On the first tee was yardage books that are very, very helpful so don't pass them up. Cart girl came around regularly and the pace of play was good.

If your ball goes into the desert I don't recommend looking for too long. Besides having lots of little bushes there are "critters" (snakes, lizards, rabbits, etc.) all around the course.

Great course and will play again!!

Played on 7-1-11 Even though it was 110 and has been very warm in Az for weeks this course was in perfect condition. From practice facility to tee boxes, fairways, sand and greens it was awesome. Challenging but, with the views and condition every shot is enjoyable. I'm a big Troon fan and it appears they put the extra effort into there courses and this one in my opinion is there best. With the deals one can get in the summer time you have to play this course, you will be tempted to come back in the "Peak" season and empty your bank account to play when the weather is in the 70's............Maybe!

We went back to Troon N to play the Pinnacle Course on Tuesday. Unlike our first experience there (with our clubs being tossed onto a wagon), this was very good. Young man greeted us, took our clubs placed them on a golf cart and took them down. We were asked if we wanted to tee off early, which we did, the starter did warn us that we would only be a 2 ball, and that there were 6 4balls out in front of us by about 10 minutes. As it turned out we didn't have to wait at all, and were finished in under 4 hours. The course - in my opinion-is a much better layout than the Monument course. Doesn't seem to be as "tricked up", but again that is my opinion. The greens were fast, and firm, not bumpy at all, and in good shape, as was the rest of the course. No complaints whatsoever. If you tend to be a longer hitter, don't play the silver tees, you can hit it through many fairways and into trouble, if u do play from the silver tees, and are a long hitter, you can use other clubs from the tee. Like Monument, the vistas are incredible. It is or they are very beautiful courses. We got a good rate, as it is coming to off season, but surprisingly the course was not very busy at all.
