As said by the previous reviewer...bucket list golf day. Had the "kids" for the weekend and this has been on the list for along time. Sucked it up and dropped the $2000+ to be able to say this was off the list. I'd do it again in a heart beat. Course is close to immaculate. Somewhat surprised though by the divot damage in the typical landing areas. Seems the folks playing here figure at these prices someone else can fix the divots and rake the traps. Super challenging. Pretty wide open fairways (ego boost) but an absolute premium is placed on the approach shots into the smallest greens you can imagine. Miss a green? You will be penalized. Not many opportunities to scramble and save par from off the green. Strongly suggest you do your best to miss the windy days. We had nine holes of perfect weather and conditions, then someone turned on the wind in a big way at easily 40+gusts. The scoring skyrocketed and the experience became a lot more humbling. A must do at least one time. I hope to be back.

Played 10/27, Bucket List Golf. Walked with a Caddie and could not stop smiling the whole day. I have played courses in better condition but have never enjoyed a round of golf more then walking Pebble on a perfect day with no wind, temps in the high 70's and not a cloud in the sky. Cant say enough about the experience of walking on these historic grounds. Strolling the fairways sipping 18 year old scotch with my brother in law and listing to our Caddie Tim telling stories while pulling clubs giving us lines and advise was something i will never forget. I now understand why this place is so special to so many, there is so much history at every turn and just hitting golf shots at Pebble is pure pleasure. From pulling my wedge long and right on 7 and playing off the 8th tee box short sided having to land the perfect flop shot on the fringe only to have your ball race downhill past the hole, hitting a perfect drive on 8 to the edge of the cliff and trying to cover the ravine to the green, then coming up short of the green on 14 and trying to get over the false front and the bunker to a tucked pin behind the bunker. The course is in outstanding shape tee to green. As far as condition, you could critique it and say the fairways were slightly thin and greens were slightly bumpy but overall the course played just fine and you would be missing the point.

Played on Tuesday the 22nd for my 2nd day of bucket list golf. No picture, video game or television broadcast can prepare you for the beauty of Pebble. On this day the Champions Tour was beginning their practice rounds, so the course had TV towers, grandstands, and was roped off for spectators. From the moment you step into the pro shop you know this is not your typical day of golf. Course conditions: tees - very good condition, firm and lush. Fairways - not as lush as to be expected, a little thin and spotty. The drought has had its toll on the course. Still very playable and good. The right side of the 18th fairway was very thin and has not healed from the car show a few last month. Rough - probably the worse part of the course. Very very thin and spotty next to the fairways, but near the greens it is lush and thick. Greens - excellent, med fast and true. A caddie will save you many strokes. Very hard to read and speed is critical. Your first trip here will frustrate you some. Would take a few rounds to get used to them. Sand - I have never experienced any sand as good as this. I felt like I didn't deserve to be playing out of sand this good. Was definitely set up for the pro. Avoid the cross bunker on 2, it can eat you up and spit you out. Every golfer should experience Pebble once. Take a caddie and a camera. They let my wife ride in a cart and follow the group around and she couldn't have been happier. Oh almost forgot, it was way cool sitting at the table next to Ben Crenshaw at breakfast and listening to him tell his buds a few US open stories

Got to check Pebble off the bucket list last weekend. We played last Saturday on the final weekend before they closed the course for the annual Conquers car show. This was my first time at Pebble and I really didn't have any idea of what to expect. We had a 9:30 tee time and we got to the course around 8:00 am. After dropping off our bags at the bag drop, we went into the pro shop and paid the $575 for the green fee and caddie fee, ouch! From there, a shuttle takes you to the practice facility where they have an amazing all grass driving range, along with a big practice green and chipping green with bunkers. After spending about 45 min there, we took the shuttle back to the first tee which is right next to the pro shop. We met our caddies and next thing we knew it was our time to tee off. The conditions of the course were very good, but not the best I've played on. The tee boxes and bunkers were perfect, but the fairways and greens showed signs of "end of the season" wear and tear. Definitely, nothing to complain about. The views you get throughout the course are priceless which makes it almost impossible to concentrate on golf. Plus thinking about all the history of the course and the great players who have hallowed these grounds constantly gave me goosebumps. Like everyone says, a caddie is a must. Not only do they save you countless strokes, but they pointo out all the spots of historical shots. Don't be afraid to act like a tourist and take pictures, everyone who works at pebble, from the starter to the caddies, they all understand that this is a once in lifetime experience for most of their customers and they embrace this fact and encourage you to enjoy the experience. I know the price scares so many people away, but if you consider yourself a golfer, do yourself a favor and plan a trip to pebble, you will not be disappointed.

Played here 2/18/14. I'll now recall 2/18/14 as my favorite golf day, in my life, to date, and I can't imagine what could surpass it. Worth every $ I spent. From the moment you drop your bag until you pay your tab in the Tap Room, you'll get incomparable service. I did not stay in the Lodge, but wish I did, just so I could have spent more time here. I don't have to say much about the course that has not already been mentioned. Playing just 10 days after the AT&T Tournament, I did contend with some (minor) de-construction of grandstands and bleachers, but did not take much if anything away from the experience. Course appeared to be in tournament condition, nearly perfect. Weather was typical, 55 degrees, breezy, partly cloudy, which in many ways felt just right. I can't describe the feeling of appreciation and amazement as I got my round under way. I had a lot of trouble getting focused on playing golf over the first 3-4 holes, but got settled in and finished strong. That of course, makes it just that much more enjoyable.

I hired a caddie ($80 fee added to the round) and walked the entire course. I can't imagine not walking, as course was cart path only, and the caddie experience was spectacular. Very personable and unbelievably professional and helpful. While I didn't have many GIR, I only had 29 putts, and would have had 40 without the help of my caddie. Spend the extra money and get the Caddie !!! I tipped another $80, and felt like I should have given him more. My first experience with a caddie, and was over-whelmed with how much it added to the experience. You'd figure golfing here would be enough, but I can't imagine playing without a caddie here.

I made a birdie on # 8, on a 18 foot downhill, 3 foot left to right breaker. Caddie (Todd) pointed to a spot one foot from my ball, told me to pretend I was tapping in a one footer. I did as told, then watched the ball roll, pick up speed, turn right and drop in the middle of the cup. He provided this kind of excelllent green reading all day long...amazing.

I won't go into details about the course, you all know what's its all about. It's a must go trip for anyone with an ounce or two of historic golf appreciation and perspective. I'll never forget it...right up to the point after the round when I got my shoes cleaned, brushed, and polished, while another staff member cleaned my clubs to showroom perfection. They even cleaned the grass clippings out of the cuff on my pants....

Give yourself the best golf gift ever and go play...Be sure to have at least one friend or family member along for the ride or to play with. My 83 year old dad rode in a cart all the way around with me, and that added another layer of magic to the day. You'll want to be sure you have someone special with you to share the day.

Played here last month for the 6th time. This course is a bit over $500.00 and worth every dime. There is no better feeling than standing on some of these holes and remembering history. If you need a caddie ask for Tino Fernandez in advance. He is one of the best out there but most are pretty accurate. Now for the sleeper. If you go up there to play then make the short drive up to DeLaveaga and Seascape. Both under $60.00 and both awesome courses. Poppy Hills is also a sleeper and as good as Spyglass for a 1/4 of the price.

We played today as the last day of our Monterey/Santa Cruz golf trip. The weather was outstanding. The course is just beautiful this time of year. From tee to green you are not going to find anything wrong with this course. With all of the superlatives that have been said about this course, there is not really anything else I can add, other than I hope all of you who play golf get a chance to play here. Yes it is expensive and if you can afford it, you will not be disappointed that you did so. Put it on your wish list or in your bucket list and I hope it becomes a reality.

Playing Pebble is a treat and we picked a perfect day. Low 60’s, sunny and not a lick of wind. To make it better, we took advantage of the NCGA offer of $100 off and $50 gift card for the club house. Let me start with the negatives and keep in mind I had a fantastic time. They are in the process of setting up for the AT&T (3 weeks from now) and let’s just say I don’t think the workers play golf. They certainly weren’t concerned about making noise. It only happened 3 or 4 times, but you’d think they would be a little more courteous. Then there was the bunkers and I’m being a little picky. Some bunkers were wet and heavy. Some bunkers had very little sand resulting in the club bouncing unexpectedly. Other than that, there’s not much to complain about. The course is awesome. We read the greens pretty well, but didn’t make a lot of putts. Tons left right around the hole. I’m certainly no expert on Pebble but there are a couple holes you should club up on your approach (14 and 18). Most everything does break towards the ocean. 7 plays one club less (depending on the wind). Do yourself a favor, stick some money aside and play this course at least once in your life. It’s a special place and it makes you feel special playing it.

Finally played this course on 12/27. The weather was perfect and the course conditioning exceeded my expectations. After two weeks of solid rain I expected a wet, soggy course. It wasn't at all. Superb. My dad and I shared a round we'll never forget. At Pebble the score just doesn't matter. Our round was 5 1/4 hours, but didn't feel like it at all. The NCGA winter rate saves a little green, but it's still pricey. In the end - definitely worth it. I could talk about it all day, but everything you need to know is out there. Again - conditioning superb!!
