I watched the PGA Grand Slam of Golf for many years. Always wanted to play here. Today was the day. And I was not disappointed. Again started early to avoid any wind and found the course in terrific shape. Went to the range to warm up and found nice grass tees, target greens and a nice putting green. Found the course to be to my liking. Absolute great tee boxes. Nice wide fairways with a decent amount of roll but great lies. Bunkers were great as they just completed a restoration of them and they were perfect. Not much rough to deal with if you kept it in the fairway. Greens were absolutely the best I have played on in a long long time. The views of the mountains and ocean are some of the best at this course I have seen when playing in HI. Fantastic restaurant called Kauai Poki for lunch and drinks. Will play again before I leave without any hesitation. I believe Kauai will be my island of choice from here on in.

Some great ocean views on the course. More elevation changes than I expected. Staff was what you would expect from a resort of this caliber. To play well here you must be able to read the grain in the greens. Lots of uneven lies in the fairways those the landing areas were generous. Go to theor website an pd do the walk through for a better playing experience. It will hep you recognize something’s you wouldn’t catch with you eyes if you were playing here for the first time. Pricey but generally worth it.

Played 4-2-23 A very beautiful resort course. Very lush and green as you would expext on a rainy island. Fairways very lush and well maintained. Ball sat pefectly and played fantastic except there was very little roll out. Almost all distance was gained through the air. Very wide and forgiving on almost evey hole. Rough was the same and only cut slightly higher. Greens were in great shape. Looked fast and grainy (Palm Springs) but were extremly slow. Really hard to convince yourself how hard you had to hit even short putts. They rolled decent. Were receptive, but the balls seldom left any marks. Traps were in bad shape. Mostly because of all the rain they had recieved. Hard packed and many filled with water. A nice practice/warm up area with range, large chipping area and two putting greens. Beautiful scenery all around with 3 holes played right along the ocean. Layout is very nice, but simple. Except for the ocean views and 1 short par 4 hole against the lava flow, no real Wow hole designs. I caught a nice break in the weather mid day, but be prepared for wind and rain on any day of the year. Steep on the cost side, but a nice treat.

Played 9-1-18. Course in good condition throughout. Go play it. Green aerification on 9-3-18.

We spent few days in Kauai and it rained every day in Princeville area but for some reason, it didn't rain at Poipu Bay. I played here on 10/27/16 so I apologize for the late posting of the review. This is one of the high end golf resorts on the island. Courses here aren't as good as other Islands IMO. While this course is good, it left me with desire of wanting little more from it for the price they charge. Customer service is top notch and I cannot emphasize enough how good they are. From the moment you park, they are attentive to your every needs including proshop staff. Driving range had plenty of spaces and they have attendants there who will take care of your needs and lets you know when you can head out for your round. There were few interesting holes but over all, I wouldn't consider this course a must play. I played courses on Oahu at less than half price of this course that were just as good. Tee boxes were good but there were plenty of places where grasses are yellowing and beat up which I don't expect at course of this caliber. Fairways overall were great but there were lots of brown spots. Some rough area needs some TLC although nothing was barren. Greens were medium fast downhill down grain but pretty slow overall. If I'm paying the big bucks to play course such as this, I expect more pristine condition and fast greens. Luckily, there were few beautiful holes with ocean view that satisfied us. Otherwise it would have been somewhat of disappointment. Overall, I enjoyed my round here in a very windy day but I probably will not go back for the price they charge. They do try to make up the short fall on the golf course with extra attentive staff who are customer friendly.

Played this course on Friday the 30th on the Kauai Challenge. Great deal by the way. You play
the best 3 courses on the island for about $150.00 per course. Now, about here. The greens
were some of the best I've played. Awesome and true. The wind is this course's defense. I played in about 15mph winds. Not too bad. The round took about 3 1/4 hours. I've always loved the layout and a must play if visiting Kauai. The staff really try to make your round a great experience. Great time.

What a pleasure! THe course was in great condition this weekend. More than that it has a real clubhouse and restaurant. The staff was great and it was definitely worth the high price tag. Afterwards we went to the beach and took a dip. What a great day! Would definitely recommend this over Makai for an experience and value.

Absolutely loved this course! Played 11/21/11. Greens were definitely my favorite, every one was perfect but each one was never the same. One of the prettiest courses I've ever played as well. The back nine slowly inches towards the ocean and the climax has to be 15,16,17 all played above cliffs alongside the Pacific Ocean. A bit windy but hey, it's Hawaiian golf and you can't do much about it. The staff was great, quick and friendly, making your round as fast and pleasant as possible. Overall, the round was worth the green fee and I'm definitely coming back before i leave Kauai. Mahalo!
