Beautiful day of golf on the Bay Course. Course is in top condition at the moment. Got out early to avoid windy conditions. Tee boxes all good. Fairways had nice coverage and good roll out. In two traps and the sand was perfect. Very little rough to deal with anywhere. Greens were super for chipping and putting. Excellent customer service at all levels. Recommended.

Played yesterday. Staying at Ritz Carlton makes it easy to get up early and out to play. Great customer service at check in and nice early AM breakfast and warm up. We found the course in excellent shape and playing early we avoided the wind and expected showers. Tees all fine. Fairways are nice and wide which is a nice feature and had good lies/roll. Missed the sand traps (darn it) but others had no complaints. Greens chipped/putted nicely all round. Tough bermuda rough outside of fairways can be frustrating. Love the 17th hole and getting par is even better. Terrific place to stay and play when you travel over here. Highly recommended.

Played today. Got out early to avoid the wind that comes up on this one. Years ago we would play both Bay and Village courses in the same day. Sadly the Village is no longer and is now just a nature preserve. It was a really nice Arnold Palmer course as is the Bay. But the Bay is still there and still a great course to play. And beautiful views from just about everywhere on the course. Being a Troon run course I was able to use my points to get a great discounted rate. And the course was in great shape. Terrific tee boxes. Fairways are wide and had great lies/roll all round. Great playable bunkers. Water, trees, ocean (especially 17) and deep bermuda outside of fairways can do a lot of damage. Greens were very fast but the practice green was that way and set the stage of what to expect. The 17th hole over the ocean is just a fabulous par 3 and of course the signature hole. Terrific staff at all levels of interaction. Food and beverage in the restaurant was wonderful. I look forward to coming back here for many years to come. IMO Kapalua is a bucket list venue for golfers.

Course itself was great. Staff was all amazing as was the staff at the restaurant. Get a burger from the restaurant - it is the best burger i have ever had.

Course conditions were near perfect. Tee boxes all level. Fairways were pristine. Bunkers were soft to the point that i had real trouble getting out of them.

Greens were lightning quick. Putts that were barely off would run like crazy.

All in all i shot terrible, but didn’t lose a ball on the 17th. Really want to go back and try course again to se if i can post a halfway decent score.

Got to play here on my vacation to Maui. Got lucky and got the aerated greens rate (last day) of 129 dollars (169 rack rate). The course is very scenic with ocean views on many holes. Even though the greens were aerated 3 weeks ago the ball roll pretty good. If you don’t want to pay 300-400 for the plantation course, this course is really nice for the 100-200 price

Played the Bay Course today, Sunday 8/5 at 9:30am, 4 hours POP and really enjoyed it. I’ve previously played the Plantation Course about 10 years ago, which is also an outstanding golf course. Personally, being a close to the ocean view kind of guy, I liked the Bay Course better. It’s a beautiful track. The 5th hole Par 3 is stunning.

As expected the golf course was in great shape and playing firm. The greens were much more firm than I anticipated and without my hotdog putter, and my trusty rusty 60 degree wedge, being I had to rent clubs, I struggled. They are not easy to read and you have to be careful as there are some very tough pin placements. Overall the greens rolled well and were Medium/Fast. Advice when pitching around the greens, don’t pin seek, the ball is going to release. Fairways were lush and firm. Rough was only a couple inches long but the ball always sat down in the bermunda turf. So much so I actually lost a couple drives that were in. The bunkers are beautiful Hawaiian red-ish sand well taken care of. The tee boxes, level, cut tight and surprisingly dry.

The golf course layout is a blast and gives you ample room to let the big dog out. There are some reachable in two par 5’s, tough par 3’s and many par 4’s with doglegs. It’s a hilly layout but not crazy. On just about every hole you can see the ocean. Holes 4 and 5 are right on it. I was loose with the driver early and the golf course made me pay for it. Once I got it dialed in, I had many birdie opportunities…if only I could have made some putts.

The service is outstanding. The starter walked me to the bag room for my rentals and filled me completely in about track. The guys in the club rental gave me exactly the type of clubs I requested, on the golf course I saw the cart girl numerous times, the marshal even helped me find a stray drive. Everyone with smiles and good professional attitudes.

Played 6/15, 7am ish, as a 3some, one of the first groups out. Lovely warm day, winds very mild. Greens a little sandy, but rolled true and about a 10 on the stimp. Very grainy, have to read grain, very slow into, much quicker with. Fairly forgiving layout with lots of elevation changes, wide fairways, big greens... Holes 3-5 is a great set of holes that heads out to the coast, and then #5 is a par 3 over the oceanside bluff. Lots of interesting holes. Had a blast.

Played Kapulua Bay course while on vacation on Maui. First tee time out on a very windy morning. Course is top notch with every detailed covered. Check in was smooth and first tee very organized. Rental clubs were Titleist AP1. Course was two weeks out of maintenance and the greens were slow and bumpy. Fairways and rough had good coverage with the rough penalized you on distance when advancing the ball. Sand traps were borderline unfair. Every green side bunker was very soft and balls would plug with a fried egg lie. Greens were aerated a couple weeks ago and still need some time. Scenery is beautiful, trade winds were up and added to the challenge.
