Played Wed 4/22, 9:40 time, 4 hr round. Busy, but moved well. Very interesting layout with rolling fairways. Easy to score if hitting the ball decent. Greens really slow and a bit bumpy... about a 9 stimp. Cups had an insert a ball deep that made it easy to retrieve ball, and holes true. Price is right, easy walk. I would play here again.

Played 5/3 mid Am in mild sunny weather. POP 4.75hrs acceptable for a busy Friday but a little slow none the less. Greens in great shape rolling true poa annua medium speed too slow IMO, but in really good shape few ball marks or imperfections.
Fairways above average rough well kept. The bunkers however inconsistent at best. Some had brownish sand but many had red mud and impediments. Two fairway bunkers on same hole were marked GUR and should have been. I was in one.
Overall a good track that plays short and is not that challenging. It's location (many better courses I drive by or are closer than here to my house) so I don't get here often. Like other reviews big range smaller practice greens. Staff friendly the beer is cold.
Golf moose for two deal was 46% better than the rack rate of $46 each. I won 2.5 of 3 points playing a match play event hooray!
Not a hard course so opportunity to score from any angle. (ie abutting fairways)

Played on a Friday afternoon in early December. Check in was easy, well stocked pro shop. Course has large driving range with mats, didn't use it on this day. Starter at first tee pacing group appropriately.

Course itself was in pretty good shape for early December. Greens are some of the best in the Sacramento area. Rolled true, not fast, not slow. Tee boxes definitely need some work, with plenty of bare spots. Fairways decent for December. Inconsistent amount of sand in the bunkers, but you can tell that the course staff is working on this, as it has improved from the past. My largest complaint was that their was too much watering given that we've had a rainy month. Fairways were soaked in spots even though it hadn't rained in over a week.

Overall this is a fun course to work on your game at. Not too difficult; you can hit all of your clubs, including driver. Decent option in the Sacramento area.

First round of the Sacramento leg of my trip. ppark81 and I played our dawn patrol round here and were first off as a twosome about 6:40. We zipped around the course easily with minimal encounters with maintenance. Rack rate was $45 with cart for weekday.

The course was in nice overall shape, though playing pretty soggy first thing in the morning. Tee boxes were good. Fairways were mostly quite good. Rough also pretty good throughout, not too deep with the ball sitting up most of the time. Bunkers were on the weaker side. Only in a couple, but they were kinda thin. The greens, like most of the ones encountered on this trip, were excellent. They were very wet and soft, so you had to fly it to the pin. However, as squishy as they seemed underfoot, there wasn't a lot of moisture sitting on top. The surfaces ran super smooth and quite quick. I can only imagine how they would be once dried out a bit more.

I didn't come in with any expectations and I enjoyed the course overall. Nothing overly spectacular, but a very solid mid-level option in the area. Funny that the two local courses it reminded me of most were Wildhorse and Wild Wings, so I guess the Sacramento "wild" trio has an unintentional theme. Not too long and fairly forgiving with the most memorable holes 16 and 18 providing a very strong finish.

Wildhawk is one of the easier courses in the area. It's not particularly long but it's usually in good shape. I played last weekend and it remains in good shape. greens were in great shape although they are slower than normal. probably running around 9 on the stimp. A couple of the tee boxes are a little beat up, but overall the course was in good shape. Some of the bunkers could use sand. Signature hols would be 18. there is a creek to consider off the tee and then water all down the right on the second half of the hole. It a par 5 and I've never seen anyone reach it in 2 but I'm sure there are long hitters out there that could do it. the approach is to an elevated green with the clubhouse in the background. They do have a decent practice area with two putting greens (1 by #1 and 1 by #10). If you haven't played it recently or ever give it a shot. We went as a twosome early Sunday morning and we finished in just under 3 and a half hours. not bad for a Sunday.

Played at Wildhawk on Tuesday 3/22/16 @ 12:35pm. Got a great hot deal from Golf Now for $23.50. Played in 4 hours and 10 minutes- great pace of play. Also, there are pace of play clocks every 4 holes, something I hadn't seen before, which is very helpful for making sure that you aren't out there for 6 hours. The course was in great shape- very green with striped fairways. Greens were fast and smooth, making for an enjoyable round. Only challenging factor was tall grass just off the fairways that swallowed up a ball or two of mine that normally would have been found. Spent too long looking for a few of my tee shots- be sure to keep your eyes on the ball flight when not hitting greens/fairways. Tee boxes were level and in good shape. I will be back soon!

Played 12/26/15 11:15 POP 5 hr. $40/2 Glf Mse. Have been looking forward to playing this course again. Conditions were much better this time around. Fairways green and lush. Rough not too thick, but enough to make you not want to be in it. tees a little uneven but for the most part fine. In only one trap and it was ok. Greens were in very good to great condition. Very receptive and ran at a touch above medium speed. Were a little on the bumpy side but not bad. For the discount price it was steal. I really enjoyed the layout. Fairly easy T shots with some minor risk reward type shots. Mostly on the short side with a couple long par 4's and most par 3 in the 170+ plus range. Not a destination type course but a great course for anyone near by.

Played 12-27-12 11:30 POP 5 hrs $ 56 Really liked the layout of this course. The conditions today were difficult because of the recent rains. The fairways were almost like playing from lite rough. The wet muddy conditions have prevented them from mowing, so they were a little woolly to very woolly and balls plugged many times. With 'guessing normal conditions' The course would have rated much higher. The greens were fantastic. Palm Springs like premium condition. Very receptive and putted at medium fast with very good roll. Layout is fun and interesting. Would really like to play this course in 'Normal' conditions. Could be one of the best courses around for the rates.
