Played this course on 6-20-22. Greens were in good shape, soft due to the fact the greens keeper was soaking them during the round, but very smooth surface albeit slow. The fairways are in need of some work, patch in some areas and very dry (gonna have to get used to this, this summer with watering regulations coming into effect) pace of play was 4:15. All in all a good day and will definitely be back for another round.

Played on 6-13. This has always been one of my favorite courses, but I was disappointed with the condition of the greens. They were very bumpy and a couple even had some major patch work. The fairways were in great shape and so were the tee boxes. The round played around 4hrs 15min.

I played Dos Lagos on Sunday 5-22-22. Was able to walk on and got to tee off at 3:21pm. The pace of play for this round was horrible. They allowed too many groups out and I was constantly waiting on the group ahead of me who was waiting on the group ahead of them, and so on and so on. The 3 players in my group left after the 13th hole because of the pace of play.
To make things worse, I was playing as a single and had no opportunity to play through since there were so many groups ahead of me, that there wasn't a break in play for me to get ahead. The round took 5 hrs, and I had to hit my approach to the 18th green in darkness as the sprinklers were turning on. The course was in fair condition. The greens were a little bumpy, the fairways were firm, and the tee boxes need some work depending on the hole. What really bothered me was the amount of ball marks I had to repair on each hole. It was close to 10 per green that needed repair and this is more of an etiquette problem not a course problem. The tee boxes were also littered with broken tees, tees still in the ground. On one hole I picked up close to 25 broken tees and disposed of them. I love playing this course, but this round left a bad taste in my mouth.

Played today 4-11-22. This was a slow round. Teed off at 9:30am and by the end of the 10th hole it was already 12:30pm. I had to leave after that because I had to things to do at 1:30pm. The course was in fair shape but the greens were very slow and soft. I could feel my feet sinking into the greens at some point and I asked my playing partners if they felt the same thing and they agreeded. Fairways were in good shape and so were most of the tee boxes. I can't give a better review since I had to leave at 12:30pm but we were on pace for a 5hr round.

4-9-22 Got lucky and was able to get on as a single before the men's club tournament this morning. Teed off at 7:45am and the pace of play was good for a LA city course on a Saturday. Finished the round in 4hrs and 15min. The tee boxes were in good shape. Fairways were in good shape and the ball got a good roll on tee shots. The greens were in the best shape I've seen them in, in the 25yrs I've played this course. The greens were soft but had good speed to them, they rolled true. In all, it was a good day and I will definitely be playing Rancho again soon

Let me preface that I have played this course about 6yrs ago when it was private and 3 years ago when it had switched to a semi private course. This used to be an amazing course with good tee boxes, nicely trimmed fairways, and beautiful greens. Well those days are far behind this course. Where do I start? The clubhouse is closed, they are starting to remodel the clubhouse and the restaurant is closed due to it not being up to current code. The only bathroom for the entire course is next to the 10th tee box inside the old snack shack at the turn. The snack shack is not open either because it is not up to current code and is roped off using yellow caution tape. The driving range has always been small and for many years you have been hitting off of mats, but the quality of the golf balls is horrible. I'm a long hitter 310-355yds and these balls were dropping off at 250 and dying. Now to the course itself. We had to play the back 9 twice today since they were air aerating the greens on the front. The starter said that they were going to be aerating the back 9 tomorrow. You could still see the aeration holes from the previous time which was a month ago. The greens were slow but had a decent roll on some. The fairways were tore up and pocked marked with massive areas of spotty grass. There were times where I was actually glad I was hitting from the rough, because the lie was better than the fairway. The tee boxes were uneven and horrible condition, leaving me to tee off in dirt on some holes. I did see one of the front 9 greens that had been aerated today and it looked like someone scalped it and burnt the green. The company that bought this course said they are putting money into reviving what was once a hidden gem at the foothills of the Inland Empire, but sadly today it was a dog track and that's about the nicest thing I can say. Hopefully they can bring this course back to its former glory, because as it stands now, I won't be back until there are some major changes.
