Played this morn at 7:18...got out on time...I had a Red Dot Certificate, so it cost my friend and I $40 a piece(reg. $80/per). Service was great, but no cart person in the morning...The course is in great shape, and I will go back...

Played on Thurs, July, 29. I want to to cry...The course is getting better every week I go. The course is starting to have shaped fairways and manicured rough. The greens had light sand for some reason, but it did not affect play. The sand traps were nothing like I have seen before at Rancho, since they were all 10's!!! Raked and fluffy!!! The distances on the scorecard are very accurate, especially from the tips. I recommend this place later in the day(when I finish, nobody is playing).

I played this course last Thursday, June 24...Does a course get any better than this?...They give you fresh fruit before your round, you could hip on the practice green, and the course is in almost perfect condition...The only bad thing is the home being developed. A road also opened along one hole on the back 9...Play before it loses all its scenery...One more thing, I can't wait for Arroyo Trabuco...It's only $55 during the week...

played on Sunday, 6/20...In the past, I have given this course decent ratings...With that said, sometimes, things have to get worse before they get better. The greens were "vertical cut" two thursdays ago(10 days) and there are still signs. The tee boxes have not improved at all, but I'll be patient with that since this course receives heavy play. I do like the fact that the fairways are slowly improving and the sand traps are actually sand. They are even fluffy, maybe because of Father's Day...Anyways, the pace of play was slow, due to the weekend holiday, and the fact that I never golf on the weekends. Basically, give this course two weeks before giving it any type of serious critique...It will be fine by then...

I played last Friday, June 11 and the course is in better shape than I had imagined. If you are a Downey resident, it's only $35/ride, non-res is $46/ride...There are a few water holes and the greens are fast and firm. I teed off at 6:56am and finished under four hours...The marshall even told us to hurry at one point, which was funny, since we were playing fast...Better faster , than slower...

Yes...it's me, rating Rancho again...I have to tell you, the course is getting better every week...The greens are better than Costa Mesa, and CM has great greens...My only suggestion is to re-sod the fairways...They did on a few holes last year, but none this year...Service is always good and this course is one of the better values...Another thing, playing the course in 3 hours helps the rating...

I was second group on twilight(3:00pm) and it was a fast round... The best deal is twilight-walking for only $17. The greens were a little slow, probably because it was late in the day, but the course is in great condition, especially the fairways. The fairways are mowed tight and the rough is well manicured...ADVICE!!! Get to the course at 2:30 and put your name in for twilight...you'll be the first ones out...

I played the course today and it was cloudy all day, with a little wind...Teed off at 9:30, and walked for $29, the best deal around OC. The greens are in immaculate condition and the course overall is is in good condition. It was a little wet around the greens(fringe/area outside of fringe), but nothing too bad. The cart girl came around enough that you don't go without and I think that's a plus if you're walking...The only problem that I saw was what I didn't see, and that's a Marshal/ambassador. The group in front of me had carts, but were slow players, as there was a 1 1/2 hole gap in front of them. After some shouts from my group(not me!), they picked up the pace after the turn. All in all, great course for the money. Looking for playing partners if anyone is interested...

The weather was cloudy early...By 11am, there was sunshine. The course is in great condition and not many people were playing the course. The service is awesome and they give you free tees, apples, oranges, and bottled water before you tee off. The large practice green is great, since it is exactly how the course greens are playing. They also let you chip on the practice green. If you get a chance, play here.

I played today and the course is in pretty good condition. The greens are the best that it's been in at least a year! The round took almost 3 HOURS TO PLAY!!! The starter did us a favor and put us(twosome) in front of five walking women...Great move! We played 17 & 18 three times each and the group behind were nowhere to be seen...Overall, the course was not crowded and course conditions are par for a muni course.

I played Mesa LInda today and it was a beautiful day in Costa Mesa. The greens are in great condition and everything else about the course is good. The pace of play was somewhat slow, but was bearable...I played with some good guys and had a good time...If people from Costa Mesa GC are reading, stop packing the course!!! You can't beat $20 for golf(walking), but pace of play is part of that value.

The round today was great...Nobody was playing the course and we finished in 3 1/2 hours...I played with Flying Fossil(whom I met here) and we had a good time. The greens are in GREAT shape and the fairways are in decent shape. The rough is getting longer and course difficulty has gone up a notch in the past couple months. AGAIN, I CAN GET DISCOUNT CERTIFICATES FOR SOCAL. Flying Fossil knows the secret, so should you.
