Plays a lot different at 8 am than my usual
6 am. Greens were dry. Fairways weren't soaked. Restaurant was open, pro shop was open, men's bathroom was accesible, snack shop on 12 was open. Early in the morning, these aren't available and it's inexcusable. The course was in good shape, a good 4 3/4 hour pace, good track overall.

Harding played very well. Enjoyed the round under very nice conditions. First ones out on Saturday so play was in 3 1/2 hours. Very good shape considering the play it gets.

course was not in great shape but the views make up for that. pace of play is very slow. no marshals or anyone to get people moving.

I take back some of the negative things I said about Rancho. While it still could use quite a bit of work, it was in much better condition than just a week ago. They are now finished with sanding the greens and they have turned out pretty nice. Still L.A. public course quality but good considering. The rest of the course was O.K., but much better than my previous feedback.

Course played reasonably well today. Considering the abuse, in good shape. Early morning pace was fast, 3 hours and 45 minutes. Enjoyable layout.

I take back what I said about Rancho last month. It was in great shape then. Now it plays like downtown Baghdad. They sanded the greens again, apparently to prevent them from burning this summer. I hope so because they are terrible now. The fairways are full of divots the size of dollar bills and larger. The traps were full of very wet sand. Not just one or two but about everyone that I noticed. The entire course is a major disappointment compared to last month.

For a public course that gets the kind of abuse from players that don't take care of it, the course plays very well. Greens are in very nice shape and fairways are good to very good. Playing time in early morning good, under 4 hours.

Played course on April 26. Generally, the course is in good shape but very upset about the fact they were heavily sanding the greens and never told us. When we asked the management of the course, they said they failed to put it on the tape when you make the tee times. O.K. Who's to blame? Doesn't matter. Should've told us at starter or given us a discount. RIGHT!!! Not the city!

Played the course 4 times in last 10 days. Aeration and sanding of greens are over. Course in much better shape, best in years. Greens still have a little way to go to grow but otherwise, course in terrific shape, considering the amount of play it gets and abuse by 'public' course players who don't take care of courses.
