I've played one of the two courses at Torrey monthly for the past year, sometimes more often. On Dec 14th, we walked, and started at 6:15 AM, just when it began to get truly light. A bit of cool fog to start, for me, is a great way to start. I had played the course only a few weeks before, and noticed the transformation from that round. The grass, everywhere, was so much greener and richer than my prior round, and it showed in the depth of the rough from tee to green. Additionally, the greens are always quick, but on Dec 14th they were much quicker than recent fall rounds.

So I guess they are getting serious about preparing for the pro tourney in late January.
