Got out here just before Coachella. I had an amazing time. The Gurus kept the round fun and the course was in Fantastic condition. The range was packed with a tournament on the other course. Otherwise service is great as always. Played in just under 4:30 with no waiting really. All the greens were great minus 1. They were rolling a little slow but true though.

This was the first time I played the Players course and enjoyed it. I much prefer it to the celebrity. Less holes with the huge drop-off like 9-10 and less holes next to the road, which gets into my head these days.

Played out here on 3/30 with the GK certificate. Good deal, even $10 cheaper than the resident rate. Course was in decent shape. Fairways were good. Tee Boxes pretty good, grassy and generally flat. Greens were just aerated a few days ago, rolled quick but not much break. Rough was weak, not penalizing at all. Sand didn't look great. Big pile of new sand on the back nine so hopefully they will be adding new sand to the bunkers soon.

Not much to be said about the service. No mobile snack cart, though the course was pretty quiet. Was able to scoot around at a leisurely pace, taking time to converse with a friend and still finished in under 3:30 without pushing anyone in front of use and the single behind us not pushing us.

Amazing day not too windy even though it's up in the canyon.

Played out here on Sunday the 21st. Course is in fantastic condition even if my game isn't. I managed to hit most of the course, luckily didn't strike any trees. Course is a definite challenge from the blues which our group was lucky enough to play. A few times you'll be, where's the tee box? Oh! it's back there!!

Not much to say about the conditions out there. Every condition I have to say pretty much the same thing. First thing you might say is, Wow this place is green.

Never had a problem finding a flat spot to tee off from.

The rough is manicured great. As much as I found the rough, never found any bare spots.

When I managed to hit a fairway I always found a great great lie.

The sand while not quite lush was easy to hit out of on the green side bunkers.

The fairway bunkers were played great, easy enough to hit out of when I found them.

The greens rolled flat, true and couldn't find one complaint about them.

My biggest complaint is that my ball enjoyed the course so much it never wanted the hole to end so it just wouldn't go in the cup.

Just played out here today. Course looks amazing. Perfectly cut. Rough around 2 inches and ball tends to sit down in it and not on top. Fairways perfect. Greens smooth but slow. Looked like 2 different types of grass on them. Front 9 very moist. Slipped 2 different times on my drive. Never had that happen one before. Very enjoyable round, finished in under 3 hours and even waited on a couple of holes. Highly recommend Paiute of in Vegas. Starter was great also and came around and checked on every one to make sure they were on pace even though the course want crowded in the afternoon. Really appreciated the beverage cart coming around 2x during the round and not retiring early even though there were not many people on the course.

Played out here the middle of August and really enjoyed it.

Two gripes. One is I should always check GK to see the course conditions, don't assume they won't be doing work just because they don't normally at that time in your area. I got to the first green and they had recently been aerated. AHHHH. But I just checked GK and no notice. Well at least I only half way belong in the forum thread about reading GK reviews. Booked over the phone and no mention was made that the greens were full of holes. That would have been nice. Second gripe is all the sand traps that had been manicured were full of flies. Now my ankles are full of bites.

On to the good stuff. Really fun course to play. Thanks to the aeration I was able to score well since the putts were pretty dead on. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the drive down here from Phoenix. As opposed to most of the other courses on the trip they seemed to be making improvements to the course as opposed to sitting in air conditioning. Have to appreciate that.

Played out here with Johnny and Ron after the Rio Secco round starting around 3 and finishing 3.5 hours later. Different track than most that we GK'ers seem to play. Felt like a pretty basic muni. Pretty flat, out and in, out and in. The distinguishing factor here is the condition of the course. Lush and pristine is the only way I could describe it. Fairways were like carpet and the green while slow, looked amazing. Fewer ball marks than I can ever remember seeing. I'm not grass expert but hopefully Johnny and Ron can chime in on the types of grass they use out there. The first course in southern Nevada to use this grass.

While basic I can tell you one thing. You definitely want to hit the ball straight out here. There are no landing areas for those of us that only seem to buy golf balls that seem to go to the right and not down the middle. You will most likely hit water or be in a big ravine which carts are not allowed in. If you have a lot of balls that go right, consider your hill repeats for the day taken care of.

While not the most amazing course, the value for the money is definitely here if you are looking for a round on the less expensive side.

Played out here with a dozen or so other GK'ers. Really enjoyed the company and had a good time.

Service was great, the guys in the parking lot were out to the car before I could even dump more balls to lose into my bag. Felt sorry for making them wait in the hot sun even though it was only 8:15. Also saw the cart girls plenty of times. On the way out the attendants were helpful cleaning the clubs and getting you out to the car in a timely manner. Last note on the service. High end desert course that charges $99 for the time we played in the middle of August and there is no water anywhere on the course and only one bottle in the cooler, well that pretty much summed up my experience out here. Hot and thirsty. Having just played 4 round in Phoenix the previous three days at half to 1/3 of the posted price here, not once was there a lack of water. Some courses had coolers every three holes loaded with bottled water, while others had ice/water and large cups every couple of holes. Unexcusable in my book.

After getting up to the driving range I was disappointed. The home of the Butch Harmon golf school has permanent mats on their driving range. Definitely off to an inauspicious beginning. Moved on to the putting green. They were moving great nice and smooth and fast.

Course was in good, not great shape. No worse than I would expect for a desert course in the middle of summer though. The other reviews will do a better job describing the actual course conditions, but I have no complaints about them. Found playing the fairways easy and flat with few brown spots. Rough could be penal as the ball could catch and be hard to get out. Greens were good, but not of the condition on the practice green. Not so fast that your ball would go flying past if you more than tapped it. Most of the tee boxes felt slightly up hill, not bad, just not flat forward to back.

I do not like playing near houses, obviously my mental game isn't quite strong enough. This course is surrounded by houses, but they are mostly overlooking the course from high up, so no worries about coming close to hitting them.

Overall, a good, not great course, that could have been a lot more pleasant with an amenity that most cheap muni's consider essential.

Quite the haul from the rest of the Phoenix courses. Definitely worth the drive to pair with Wickenburg Ranch. Course is in great condition. Looks like part of a housing sub division that barely got built. Seems to be about 6-10 houses out here. If you don't like playing among houses, now is the time to go.

Really enjoyed the views out here. Fairways to rough to greens were immaculate. Some big elevation changes that require one or even two higher clubs. Greens were pretty hard but held the ball the few times my clubs agreed with my swing. They felt almost like cement but played like on grass. They were mostly flat with subtle breaks. Nothing unfair.

All the par threes were long but felt the same. High tee boxes shooting down onto wide but shorter greens. 180-200 yards with traps or water guarding them. Not easy at all.

This course is not walkable as you are going up and down a mountain or two. Also a long drive from the office to the driving range and first and last whole. Seems like they never even started building the clubhouse when the housing market crashed.

It will also not be a quick round. Took over 3.5 hours as a single playing pretty quick without having to wait on one hole.

I would definitely include this course on a golf road trip.

My second course for the day was not what I expected. It's listed on the Golf Week top courses you can play in Arizona. Felt like the local Muni though. Course is green and pretty lush except a few places where it's not. All the grass felt the same just shorted on the fairways and tee boxes than in the rough and even shorter on the greens. Most of the sad traps played or looked pretty hard. Understandable, if they don't maintain them everyday the sprinklers definitely hit the sand. 60%-70% if the cart paths are dirt.Nothing felt special out here. Appears to be running on a skeleton crew for the summer at least.

Most tee boxes were flat, but not quite short enough. Also most of the tee boxes contained all the different colors so even you are playing blue black or while 75% are within the same 20 yards. Only the women's were in a different area. Course is pretty flat but the tee boxes and greens are raised up.

They also close way before the sun sets. But I guess that's to be expected in the heat and so few people playing in the afternoon.

Not a bad track to include on a road trip if you have the time, but Quintero isn't far away if you only have time for two courses in the area.

On an aside. If you play here and Wickenburg Ranch in August most of the restaurants in town are closed and there are very few if any non fast food places to eat.

Played out here Sunday morning. Called the day before and they said come on out no problem. When I got there at 9:00 they said nothing till 10:45. Went to the range and the starter got me out at 9:30 so it ended up perfect.

The grill in the office doesn't open till 11. So they have free coffee bagels, and pastries. So nice. Water was also free. haven't experienced anything like that previously.

The office is currently also the office for the homes tours. You can see a magnificent clubhouse they are building overlooking the course. They also have a short par 3 course. Not sure if it is open or not. Everyone working in the shop/grill were super nice.

I had a great time on the course. It was everything one could ask for. Great greens. An odd brown spot once every few holes, but way better than you would expect in the middle of a desert in the middle of summer. Tee boxes were flat and perfect to hit off of. Sand was a little hard packed the water from the sprinklers definitely hit the traps.

I can't say enough. I really enjoyed the course and it is deserved of the magazine rankings.

So my first time back on the course and at this course in over two months. Definitely showing the signs of summer. Last time I hit up Brookside it was just before the city championship and the course was in great shape.

This course could definitely use a month or two off to recover and some real TLC. You can see a few places where they laid down sod, and it just isn't catching. Looks dead already. Most tee boxes aren't level.

The greens are good overall but once again, TLC, so many ball marks. Maybe if they had the marshals fixing ball marks then players would know they should too?

The fairways are pretty good, but the rough is either non penal or non existent. The "driveways" for parking at the Rose Bowl also cut through a few fairways and haven't recovered.

The weird thing is the course didn't seem overly dry. Felt like it was getting water, just no TLC. Feels more like there is fungus or just too much traffic keeping the grass from growing more so than water and heat. But what do I know I'm not a greenskeeper or superintendent. Just wish they could throw more money into up keep since the setting is so perfect.

Played out here 2 rounds on Sunday. Really enjoyed the course. Greens were good. They were listed at 10.5 on the board. Not sure what that means in reality but they didn't seem that fast. Fairways were nice. Rough was very penal. Tee boxes were fairly flat.

Saw the cart girl multiple times per round. Once nice thing was the drink prices were very fair. Not amusement park/sports stadium captive pricing. $2.50 for a bottle of soda. Enjoyed a between rounds meal also, that was tasty.

Would not hesitate to go out here again even though it is a 70 minute drive.
