GC has been a long time favorite course but yesterday was a fiasco. As always, we’re told POP needs to be 4 hours. We finished in 4:15 and NEVER ONCE had any players on our tail, in fact we were ahead of group by more than a hole. However, at the 10th we had Marshal following us continuously and bringing up our pace. At the turn we were at 2:06. This SOB made our back 9 horribly uncomfortable. The 4 hr POP request is understandable but when you’re approx over by less than a minute per hole and they start hassling you it makes for a really sh-t ty and in fact slower back 9. We finished ~ 25 seconds over per hole and were harassed the whol back 9 as a result.

Been playing Talega since ~ 2010. Place has gone to way downhill the past few years. Price is ridiculously high and no longer worth it.
Service is also horrible. Went to bar for a beer and asked if the could top it with a splash of Bloody Mary mix. They wanted $14. I asked how much for the beer itself, $6 but because it would be considered a mixed drink, they wanted $14. Do a splash of Bloody Mary mix was $8.
This was just the tip of the iceberg of why I will never go back to Talega.
Course stinks, service stinks and everything is ridiculously overpriced.

Played twice in last month and absolutely love the course.
Very challenging as many fairways are pretty narrow and greens are lightning fast.
Only problem I found were green side bikers were hard as a rock.

Looking forward to playing again once course has recovered from maintenance.

Played on Sunday Nov. 15th, 8:40 t-time. Course was in near immaculate conditions. They over seeded rough about four weeks ago and as result had not mowed in sometime so needless to say, you really needed to stay in fairway to have good shots at par or better. Greens are enormous but are very tricky with breaks everywhere. Additionally, as a tribute to Augusta during Masters Sunday, they had all pin placements in most difficult spots and all within 6-10' of fringe. POP was not ideal (approx 4:45) but was because we had some poor golfers ahead of us. All in all me and my crew were highly impressed and will be playing there again very soon!!!

Played on Sunday morning of 8/23. Fairways were nice but rough was ridiculously long, 3-5” high. This resulted in ridiculous POP and frustration amongst entire foursome. Just seemed as though City is cutting corners on maintenance. If you’re going to charge $250, at least make it so it’s not impossible to find your ball if you’re not in fairway and if you do find it, even the best of pros could not get out of this kind of rough any more than 50-100 yrds.
Was very disappointed. Played the North last year same time and conditions then were excellent in comparison even with greens being punched a week earlier. I can accept green punches but never such poor maintenance as we saw on Sunday.
