My favorite golf course, however the rain has taken it's holl. Problem is they aren't correcting the situations. Sloggy fairwairys and bad tee boxes. Plus heard that the course is up for sale...does that mean they won't keep making progress?

Played on the 14th, with a seniors discount ($35)...course is in great condition. Greens have been verti cut, so breaks are strange in some cases, and rather slow, but otherwise great! Well worth the $.

Lucky enough to play this course on the 12th. Great muni, with views of the same ocean as Pelican Hills! for a lot less $$. Greens were slow due to the fog and moisture, but rolled smooth with good strokes. Kakuya grass fairways are lush, and rough is rough, hard to score from. Bad news is aeration is scheduled for the 14th, so wait a while before visiting this great William Bell designed golf course.

I asked the same question, while they go through the tranisition, # 8 will become a par 3 & a par 4, # 12 will become a par 3 & a par 4. Don't know if the sides will switch right away but eventually the 1st hole will be on the other side of the road. Holes # 10 & 11 will be removed to make room for the new clubhouse & driveing range. Plans, if still in gear, are for the club to accquire land north of #11 for the new holes. More information than I was qualified for....If math is right it will make the course a par 68 while this goes on ......not a major problem, because it is well worth the fees....

Rough is tough! However the mower was not before us...Greens are great and not too fast for the average player...They offered a great value for seniors (55+) and pace of play was great, under 4 hrs. Only thing the players need to fix pitch marks on the green....!

Still a good $ value. Cartpaths only, so play is slow compared to usual. Fairways are getting lush due to the rain, and greens are good. 2 fairways are still sloggy.

It's wet out there, but the greens are fine...cartpath only which adds to the time for the round, however we played in 4 and half, which isn't bad...Good experience.

Played today, holiday golf with lots of players, so it took a while. The greens are nice and roll true and towards the ocean. Not a bad deal for a muni that gets so much play. The grass in the fairways isn't growing well at this time of year, but one of the playing partners was from Cleveland and he thought this was paridise. Guess we're spoiled!

Played today, what a great day to play golf! Summer time in December. Golf course is in great shape, not to much roll on the fairways due to overseeding & wet weather, however the newly seeded grass is well established. Greens are smooth and true. Cost more ($5) to play on Friday, but on this kind of day-worth it.

Played on the 19th of Nov. After the recent overseeding the fairways are lush. Not much roll on your drives. Greens are in great shape, fast and true. With the rain and sunshine the course is getting better and better. Cart attendents need to remember to fill the divot cans, and the golfers need to fix pitch marks on the greens. Best of all, I received a B-day special (free green fees including cart). This is one of the few courses that still offer this. I think it is very good PR. I'll be back soon.

Figured my response about amateurs relying on GPS would ruffel a feather or two. It's only my opinion. Plus if most amateurs could hit the ball within a foot or two of the pin like the pros, then the GPS would be invaluable! I do like the systems occasionally, I think it speeds up play, and I like to know the distance to the front of the greens.

Played today, hit the ball horribly but wasn't the golf courses fault. This is the best bargain in OC! They need to rebuild a number of tee boxes & sand traps, but the recent aeration and acid rain has made the course very lush. They have put up signs reminding players to fill divots and repair ball marks. Only problem the cart attendents don't fill the sand cups on the carts so we can help take care of the course. Also the signs are a waste, as considerate players do these things already, and the ones who don't aren't going to read the signs anyway.
