Golf Course Reviews: California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Florida, Hawaii!Rule Of Thumb…never take the 101 north to Ventura after 11:00am on a hot weekend. You’ll get caught in the great escape from the heat traffic. It sucks! Also, don’t bother playing Olivas Park to escape the heat. There are better options like River Ridge, Sterling Hills, and Buenaventura. Olivas is slated to close for renovation sometime this fall and the upkeep of the course shows it. The driving range net on the right side is gone so it’s irons only. The greens were pretty good but for the amount of rain we got, you would think the fairways would have been better. Also the service from the older staff members always seems the same…kindda like a harden sailor attitude. Maybe it’s because we were not locals or something. I don’t know but it stinks. The only positive thing about the course is the temps. 20 to 30 degrees cooler then Valley.
