Used to be one of my favorite Houston area courses. Played last weekend and it was very disappointing. Almost looks like the place changed ownership; the general property is just not maintained the way it used to be. The rough was unkempt (still had fall leaves laying around..and this is June), lots of bare areas. Just not the place it once was, BUT the green fees are among the highest in the area; OK, but not worth the price or the drive.

The back nine on this course is terrific; the front side good as well, but holes 1-3 are weak. Course is in country (so not well manicured), but many of the greens have severe undulation and can be very fast. Usually quick pace of play, but occasionally you get stuck behind a group with hats on backwards :) Great value for tuning up game, but not worth a trip across town.

Course lost its greens to either disease or poor maintenance (cannot put 3 feet in any direction without going through patch of sand). Fairways in decent shape, with very close lies. Bunkers are inconsistent; some holes beach sand, some course red sand, some just dirt. Good pace of play if you just want to brush up on you tee-to-green game, but greens are unplayable.
