I played on Nov. 20 and 21 - course was in great shape- despite the previous night's rainfall. Played both rounds at under 4 hours!

I've played this course 3 times since it opened, and it gets better each time. No more flat greens! That's for sure. This course will make you think on how to hit shots ... it will definitely make you consider the "risk and reward" of a shot played due to the amount of bunkers, water holes and pin placement. I can't imagine how difficult this course will become during the LB City Amateur tourney - it's gonna be brutal.

Green fees: yes, they are higher in comparison to Rec and El Dorado, but I consider it a good value nevertheless. We have it so good here in LB, but people will still bitc& on how much green fees are - they a look at other munis across SoCal and California - and you will find this is great deal. In other words, stop whining and complaining about fees. If fees are so high, play at twilight - problem solved.

played on 11/14 ... the greens are in better shape as well as the fairways ... they cut down the grass bunker on #8. New netting has been installed on the right side of the driving range as well, since the other netting was torn during the last storm. One thing that bothered me was the amount of standing water that was prevalent throughout the course ... it has rained in weeks so are they over watering, is the course not draining properly or all of the above. It seems that this course is very high maintenance.

Played on 8/21 and the course is in great shape. The greens are in great shape - very firm and fast too.

Hats off to the greenskeeping crew. My group tee'd off at 7:22 a.m. and we finished just under 4:10!

Played here a couple of weeks ago - the greens here are just battered. Not sure what the problem is - heard that fungus may have hit the greens. Nevertheless, repairing divot marks on the greens is the bigger issue. Also, counted six dead crows when I played. West Nile Virus is in the El Dorado Park area so spray on your bug repellant.

Played Rec on 7/24 and 7/25 - a day after the Long Beach Open. The course was playing tough - rough was grown out and the greens were slick. Like any course, the super can make it as difficult as they want - and the course was difficult. The course is suppose to cut the rough down on the 7/26.

I played El Do all three days of the 4th of July weekend. I have not seen the course in this bad of shape for years. The greens were in really bad shape - uneven cut areas, some dead spots (grass was dying), lots of divots unrepaired. The bunkers were also poor, very little sand in most of them. The fairways were okay, but a lot of unplayable areas. Even the tee boxes were somewhat battered - reminded me of the old Skylinks pitcher's mound syndrome.

It was really sad to see the course in this kinda shape - considering how much work and money was put into it. What was even more alarming is that the Men's City Championships are this weekend (with 2 rounds at El Do), and I'm not sure if this course will ready for the tournament.

If you play El Do, PLEASE repair your divots on the greens.

Course is playing great. Greens are in great shape, and are fast. PLAYERS NEED TO REPAIR DIVOT MARKS - but I guess that's gonna happen at a muni course - hacks not repairing divots.

carsbywhoever - Cypress charges $75 a round on the weekends, plus it's not a beginners track. Have you played there?

The general golfing public doesn't go there because the green fees are high, but the track is gimcky. You can get penalized for hitting a good tee shot. The perceived value isn't there.

Do you know anything about that track, it's management and current state?

The Legends course green fees will not be that high - initial estimates have been $35-45. If you know LB courses that well you would have known that.
