Went out this morning on a $30 greens fee from Golfnow. Course is still recovering from water damage but otherwise it is in excellent condition. Pace of play was great even though they were completely booked and the greens are immaculate.

Played this afternoon and didn't have anybody in front or behind me for at least three holes! (Very strange) First off I would like to compliment the greens keepers for their superb greens conditions. Best greens I have played on in San Diego (including Torrey), they are fast, smooth and fair. The fairway could be a little thin at times but it was good for the most part. The rough was patchy and had some thick areas and some bald areas, the majority of the rough never got above three inches but there were some wild spots. Course is in great condition but it is (as always) a hell of a walk!

Went out and played on Monday afternoon. The course is in great shape considering that San Diego is in a drought and the local government is rationing water (remember this is a local muni). The greens seemed slower than earlier in the year and many people in front of us were not fixing their divots or raking the sand (so I did it for them and earned some karma points). Rough is getting nasty! The thickness is not the problem it is the Bermuda grass that spreads out in long tufts making it near impossible to get clean contact. Fairways are rolling out fast and lush and the sand is in good condition. As always it was an excellent play with stunning views, worth the greens fee as always! (at least for a resident)

Great course! played this afternoon and was in great shape. The fairways and rough are in good shape. Some of the greens on the back nine were incredibly hard though. There were a few problems with people who didn't repair their ball marks or rake their sand shots (had to rake a few bunkers that I wasn't even in and repair 2-3 extra divots besides mine on the green.) The course itself is maintained well and is layed out very well to please the eye. Many elevation changes and spectacular views. Would recommend that you try and get a cheaper rate on some online site.

The course is not in very good condition any more. The tee boxes are uneven and are covered with large divots. The fairways are dead thin and hard. The rough is a joke. The greens were bumpy from people not repairing their ball marks. And the Marshall was on our case the whole time (with no one behind us). This course is only tough because of its tight fairways and tee shots, but if you are somewhat accurate off the tee you will be able to eat this course up, as long as you can overcome the puts that will go all over the place.

Played today. The course is in decent shape despite the fact that some idiot went out onto the course in his truck and tore up a bunch of holes on the back nine. One green and one tee box are closed but there are replacements. Expect to be upset to find that the green on 16 is now just the fairway. The front nine was unharmed and played very fair. Definitely worth the time and money, great cheap course as always.

Course conditions were pristine today. Friars (the northern 9-hole) was incredibly windy as it usually is so be prepared to battle the wind. Greens were kept up very well and flag placement was definitely tough considering it was only a Thursday. Definitely worth the money.

Course was literally empty today (Tuesday) went out and was able to play a great round with little to no disturbance. Course was playing perfect in all areas. Fairways were lush, rush was decent and the greens were immaculate. The only thing out of place was the fact that many of the tee boxes were not level. I decided to walk today, be warned that it is a challenge to walk, not for the faint of heart.

This, unfortunately, is my home-course for practice. Its practice facilities are very nice (for putting and chipping) but the course is terrible and is never kept-up. I will give them credit for the fact that they had just recently cut and rolled the greens, but I'm pretty sure they over did it because it felt like Torrey-speed even though it is some third-rate pitch and putt. It was horribly out of place. Although I will (forcibly) continue to play here I urge you not to waste your money.

Played here over the Veteran's Day break and loved every minute of it. Tee times can be scarce but if you get out there early and get your name on the list you will probably be called out within the hour (as long as its not a weekend). Greens were really fast and often deceptive. The course was in amazing shape and playing on Torrey is always a pleasure.

No maitenance despite the warning, went out and played yesterday good round not many people there but they didn't have the grill out so we had to settle for microwaved hot dogs. Overall fun round.

Played on Wednesday afternoon and the course is overall in great shape! Some tee boxes are a little uneven and have some bare spots but that didn't bother me much. Friars has a lot of ground under repair mostly in the rough areas, so you wouldn't hit in there anyways right? Had a great time playing, Presidio was in excellent condition and Mission looked great (as it always does) Definatly recommended for those of you who get the Union Tribune, look in the Tuesday issue and there will usually be great coupons for the course in the sports section.
