Long time reader, first time poster. Grew up playing Verdes and could probably get around with a blindfold on. Felt compelled to jump in and submit review. I've seen this course for 20 years and the varied conditions over time. The dried out fairways and surrounding areas are not a big deal to me. The addition of quality sand was a big upgrade. But the state of of the green are what I care for and separate a good course from bad. Usually, I love putting up there, but due to moisture, they didn't cut in the morning. Therefore, 2 footers would bounce and fall offline quickly and frustratingly. Also, they have some fungus/disease adding brown patches throughout the surfaces (which I haven't seen up there ever). Overall, I love the course because it's home. But I won't be back for some time and I hope they can improve the putting surface as quickly as possible.
