This golf course was originally part of a 54-hole private golf club. Quail Valley hosted the Houston Open in '73 & '74. Holes #1 & #11-18 on El Dorado were 9 holes of the tournament routing. The other nine holes were on the La Quinta course.

It's a public, daily-fee facility now and the El Dorado has been revamped in 2009 to feature a more contemporary design with more contours and rolling terrain. It's a par-70 stretching over 7000 yards with tough and long par-3s. This course could host a PGA event and is one of the better values in the Houston area. You'll probably want to play the other La Quinta course while you are there also. They are completely different from one another.

It's a public, daily-fee facility now and the La Quinta golf course is more of a classic, target-style golf course with flat fairways and smaller, elevated greens. It can be tough, especially in wind. This course is one of the better values and places to play in the Houston area. Probably want to play both courses too. They are completely different from one another.
