LOVED THE COURSE LAYOUT. PLAYED TODAY. THE ALERT WAS WHITE SAYING WORK WAS TO BEGIN ON OCT 30TH. WELL EVERY GREEN WAS COVERED WITH FRESH SAND. HOWEVER THE GREENS STILL WERE QUICK SO I CAN IMAGINE HOW FAST THEY ARE WITHOUT SAND. ANYWAY VERY ENJOYABLE DAY WITH MY BUDDIES VERY NICE LAYOUT. STAY AWAY FROM THE VERY DEEP BUNKERS. WE DROVE FROM SAN GABRIEL THINKING WE WERE GOOD BECAUSE 30TH WAS LISTED AS MAINTENANCE DAY. BUT SYAFF WAS GREAT! COURSE WAS TOUGH. BUT ALL IN ALL A NICE DAY WITH MY BUDDIES.

I played this course on Thursday, Sept 20th. This course is what it is. It is a shame that "Chernobyl" as our group calls this course, cannot seem to grow any grass in the fairways. I don't know if this is true because I am not originally from the LA area , but I guess this course was built on an old landfill. However, they can seem to grow grass where the greens are because they are very nice. The tee boxes also are nice. The course has a nice layout. But why are the fairways the way they are? If this place had some new dirt and sod put down it would be a really nice course. when we play this course, We instill our own set of rules that if you land in the fairway, then you can place your ball on the closest piece of grass you can find as long as it is no closer to the hole, It may be 10-15 yards away from where your ball ends up coming to a stop but its true in most cases. There are a few holes that are unaffected by this rule but in most cases it is true. But Golf is good no matter where you play. I still enjoy the experience of being on the course no matter where it is but its more enjoyable when it is on a course that is well maintained.
I do get longer drives here when I hit the ball straight though.
This course does have potential if they can find some kind of grass that will actually grow in the fairways here.

Golfed here June 7th. For the price a good deal. Fairways not dried out yet good roll. Greens were good. Not too bad of a track for the money. played as a twosome of 2 golfers and was not crowded. played the first nine in an hour and a half. However we caught the groups in front of us by the 8th hole. The back 9 took us over 2 1/2 hrs. 5-somes are allowed and we had to wait 5-10 min on every shot. The foursome in front of us had to wait on the fivesome ahead of them every shot. The foursome offered to let us pass them on #10 but we declined because if the 5 some would not allow the foursome to pass, then they were probably not going to let us through either. Marshall could have picked up the pace but did not. Overall not bad for 4 hrs though. Started at 815 and finished by 1240. Not bad. Wished we could have finished in 3 1/2 though.

Went out on May 31st and the course was in magnificent condition. The only drawback is the sand in the bunkers. Everything else was pristine. Pace was never a problem, Service as always was fantastic. A public course that makes you feel like your at a private course. My favorite course in the LA Orange Inland Empire area. Worth the 65 mile drive. Best bang for the buck. Thanks Oak Quarry. Just please get some nice sand in those bunkers. I spend quite a bit of time at the beach. Worth the drive. Never a disappointment. I love this place.

Played last week. Staff was great. Many tee boxes were under repair and used alternate tee boxes . Greens are nearly fully recovered from recent aeration. Fairways in very good shape. Enjoyed the round. Walked in a foursome and finished slightly over 4 hours. If you don't hit it straight you will find yourself in bailout mode. Many trees and hazards for those that do not hit straight. Do not be deceived by the short yardage of the course. One of my playing partners played this for the first time. Called the course a sissy course. He shot a 125.
