The Upland hometown is a little misleading, as I am a native of San Diego and grew up in Point Loma. I haven't played here since the change to a city course, but I will as it was where I played my first round of golf, some years ago. Played as an adult with my grandfather who was a retired Marine Officer, so I have plenty of found memories and it really was a fun track to practice your short game on.

Two courses, that are always in great shape. Nice and open with water that comes into play on several holes. Greens are excellent and fairways are in very good shape. Wind is a factor as it comes up in the afternoon and on some days can really make the golf a challenge.

Classic San Diego course. If you have lived in the area, or are passing through and haven't played one of these courses, shame on you. Just drive by on Torrey Pines Road and if you have to read a feedback to wonder if you should play, you don't get it.

Very busy course. The reason is that it is a great value and real challenge to paly. Pretty wide open on most holes, water does come into play on a few. Maintained nicely and fairways and greens are in good condition. Rough is fair, and not too much of penality. Worth the trip if in San Diego area.

Newer course that is not fully matured. Not an easy layout, greens are still young and fairways are getting better. Nicely maintained fun to play.

Actually I believe this is Pala Mesa Golf Course. This is a very beautiful course to play. Plays a little hilly, but the course is always in great condition, and a challenge to play. Different tees for all handicaps make it a fun challenge.

Very busy course. Fairways are a little rough, but the greens are in good condition. Priced, right. The front nine is basic golf, but the back that runs along Lake Murray, is visually quite pleasing and fun to play. Not resort golf, but fun and a nice way to enjoy the game.

Very tough little course. You play accross a riverbed for 9 of the holes. Risk - reward test. Course in very good condition, and this is a very good value for the San Diego area. Fairways are a little tight on back nine, but course is walkable and worth the price of admission.

This is a great, fun course. Plays right along the bay, and has the best view in town. Tough to get a tee time, but it is the best value for a municiple course other than Torrey Pines in the area. Greens as in good shape for the amount of play that this course recieves, and fairways are well maintained. How could you not enjoy a day of golf in such a great location. Must play if you can.

Classic San Diego golf course. Running through Mission Valley, has great layout. A must play if you are in San Diego. Greens are in good condition as are the fairways. Not the toughest course you will play, but there is a real risk - reward to your play. Actually 3 nine hole courses. Course is fun and a challenge.
