Always looked forward to playing this great couse in the foothills. Very nice people at check-in and starter ...after that it was downhill... Tee boxes in very bad shape, fairways O.K. but the greens were the WORSE.. does anybody fix a ball mark on this course?? Looks overall that the course is still suffering financially; did not see one groundsperson out on the course. The good reputation did not fit the shape of the golf course. Disappointed....

Came back 11/24/05 after playing the course three weeks ago. No rain for over a month, however the fairways are muddy, with a "thin" layer of grass, you must "pick" your ball off the fairway or you end up with a mud ball. The greens are under attack, 75% were not mowed and are fighting a parasite. It is hard to see such a beautiful and historic course go downhill. The employees are all friendly, but overall this course need work.
Have not played the Presidio for a year. We have not had any rain in the Bay Area for weeks, but this course was wet!!..It was like playing in winter conditions. Every fairway shot was a mud ball, and we started playing lift, clean and place due to the thin fairways and amount of mud the shots produced. The fairways are being damaged due to the amount of divot marks. All said it is still such a beautiful place to play, location, location, location!
Greens were just sanded (9-26/9-30) Overall the course is in good shape, the tee boxes are crowned and thin. Money deals are great while people stay away due to the sandings.
