I had played this course in the past and it was in much better condition. My only real complaint was the greens. There were ball marks everywhere. Rarely did I have a putt that did not have a ball mark in the line and there were so many marks (in excess of 100 on the green I counted) that you couldn't count them all. I don't know if it is due to the people playing this course or it is something about the greens but it is an issue that definitely should be addressed. More and more I am seeing golfers who do not repair their ball marks and it disgust me. If you enjoy the game respect it and the course you play on. To those out there that are respectful and repair ball marks thanks and keep it up.

This course is my new nemesis. I think the slope and rating on this course is low so if you are looking to bring down your handicap not a good choice. Almost every fairway is tree lined and it's up to the golf god's as to whether you are going to have a line of sight to the pin if you stray from the fairway. The course was in relatively good shape and the greens were nice. It was quite refreshing to have a marshall come and question me for hitting three off the tee on number 16 he requested I refrain from hitting multiple balls unless the ball was out of play . I informed him the first two went in the river but still he was doing his job which is rare these days it seems. I appreciate a course that actually does something about the pace of play. If you are looking for length go somewhere else but if you are looking for a test of your skills this is a nice layout at an extremely reasonable price. Keep up the good work.

The greens have recovered nicely. You can barely tell they were aerated 3 weeks ago. The greens were a little inconsistent hole to hole however in terms of firmness and speed. Probably due to recovering from aeration. For the most part the course was in very good shape and I would reccomend playing Camarillo if you don't mind slightly slow play. This course has a lot of character and is pleasing to the eye. I was dissappointed with the following conditions, however; 1. Driving range net damage makes #12 a mess and dangerous. 2. Saw the marshall, excuse me ambassador, once. Maybe that's why I couldn't speed up my own group which admittedly was slowing down play behind us. 3. Several of the pins (3-4) evidently had not been moved for so long that the grass was growing into the cup aprox. 1/4 of an inch reducing the size of the hole and just giving an unsightly target. All in all I would reccomend this course and I think it is a good value just be preparred for a slow round.

This course is as well maintained as they come, especially when you consider the green fee. It is a fun course perfect for the average player, maybe a little short for big hitters but I wouldn't know about that. The greens are some of the best I've played on, always consistent from hole to hole and roll true. The only problem is getting a tee time or getting on from the waiting list. Frequent tournaments and events as a single wait can be 2 plus hours. Still one of my favorites.
