Golf Course Reviews: California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Florida, Hawaii!Course will be closed Tuesday, July 5. They are doing some work on the greens.
Played 5/12 as a single walk-on and was teamed up with two other gentlemen (always end up playing with great people at RC). First group out walking finished in 3h20m. However be warned greens have been recenlty puched. Putts roll very well considering the look of the greens. Some sand on the greens but overall not too bad.
Anyone know what the is happening to the greens at RP? Looks like they have some type of fungus. It is on pretty much the entire surface of every green. Also, they are re-constructing the temporary green on #2 so they've marked a second temp.
A word of warning to all who travel to Palm Springs to play the PGA West resort courses, I agree with swbkrntom regarding service. I play these courses every summer and have yet to experience quality service. I keep going back because you can't beat the price in the summer and there are some great individual holes on each courses.
Played June 17, the course had ben aerated a few days prior and should be avoided, I played anyway since it was the first day of my all you can play package. Love the 17th hole.
Greens and fairways not yet fully recovered from aeration. Men's club has a tournament first thing Saturday morning, Apr 30 so you may want to consider skipping Rancho this weekend.
AVOID RANCHO! Aeration of greens and fairways is still in progress. Played 11/04, most on the greens resemble sandtraps and most of the fairways have been punched. The grounds crew was working hard but give it a week or you will be disapointed.
Played 05/22 before the CC. Course was in pretty decent shape, most likely in preparation for the Men's Club Championship. Extra sand was added to many of the greenside bunkers, greens and fairways were mowed tight, not as many ball marks on the greens.
Played 6/28. Greens still in poor shape after aeration. Slow and bumpy. Give it another week.
