This course is tough. If you are above a 15 HC and have not played here I would do yourself a favor and play from the forward tees. Its not so much the distance of the course or hitting fairways, but the greens and bunkers here are so tough. I played here in March of 2014 and the course is just in absolutely perfect shape. The greenside bunkers here are ridiculous, and stopping the ball on some of these greens is just impossible. Also several holes where you think you hit a perfect shot and you ball rolls off the green into some bunker, gully or other undesirable spot. Im not very good at judging green speed, but these were some of the fastest I have ever played combined with some difficult reads. Two putting many of these greens is something to be proud of. Also if you are playing when it is windy, it is going to be a long day if you are not used to trying to stop your ball on the green with wind. The amenities here are great, clubhouse and food is awesome and this course has everything that you would want for paying higher end money to golf in the Scottsdale area. POP got a little slow on the last 4-6 holes, I think it has something to do with a reachable par 4 that everyone has to wait for right before a par 3. If you have never played here and you shoot close to your HC you should be very pleased with your game as this course can provide some unique challenges to even the low HC player.
