Golf Course Reviews
Golf Course Reviews: California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Florida, Hawaii! As always, the customer service here was outstanding. However, many of the greens were recently aerated and all had been sanded. I was very surprised to see that when GK had no mention of it. Still, the course was excellent.
I must admit that I always have a good experience at Goose Creek; the staff is always very friendly, the pace of play is good and the course is always in pretty good shape.
However, to say that the greens are "excellent" or "immaculate" is just plain wrong. I wonder what those who post comments like that are used to putting on. Frankly, I rarely find excellent or anything near immaculate greens anywhere in Southern California. Perhaps some of those posting comments have the privilege of playing courses like Augusta National, and are suggesting that Goose Creek's greens are similar to those at Augusta and the like. Something tells me the greens at Goose Creek are not like those at Augusta or other courses where the greens truly are excellent or even immaculate.
In any event, when I played at Goose Creek on Sunday morning, the greens were just not very good. They were soft, but slow and bumpy. The practice green was relatively fast and smooth; and we were disappointed that the greens on the course were so much different.
I understand that many factors prevent courses from always maintaining the best possible conditions, so it doesn't bother me that the greens on one of my favorite courses are not always in top shape. However, the greens were far from excellent.

This course is in very good condition. The only thing I can complain about is that the greens were a little inconsistent in speed and hardness. Overall, the course is in excellent shape, and the service was great.
Excellent condition, but too slow, and too expensive.
This course is exactly what it should be for $215: great condition and great service. The worst thing I can say about the facility is that the driving range was mats only, and the bunkers were either too hard or too wet. Overall, worth the $$$$$.
I've played here dozens of times and the course was in the worst shape I've ever seen it, except for times when the fairway or greens were punched. The fairways had many thin or even bare spots, and the greens were in "B" condition. In addition, it took us 4 hours and 45 minutes to play on a Thursday morning. Thus, the course was not worth the $105 green fee, and I was frankly surprised to see that it was rated "great" by previous reviewers.
