Played California Oaks last week and found the course to be very nice. The condition is great considering we have had less than 2 inches of rain all year.

I have a friend that is a superintendent and he said that most courses right now are thinner and not as plush as last year. Last time I checked, rain is a good thing.

I will be back

Played Shorecliffs last weekend. I found the course to be in nice shape. They have not aerified the greens yet so this is one of the few courses in Southern California that has playable greens right now.

I spoke with the starter and he mentioned to me that #14 along with a number of other tee boxes were being leveled and the tee areas re designed. I started playing Shorecliffs about 7 years ago and WOW what a difference!!! (dramatically better)

This course has certainly improved my game due to it's difficult nature.

To the staff of Shorecliffs... Keep doing what you are doing and keep up the good work. I will keep playing there and will enjoy the modest green fees and friendly atmosphere.

In reading the prior comments I have to wonder what the true expectation really is for all of us. While I understand that we as golfers want the quality of Pebble Beach with the green fee of Muni USA.

I play a lot of golf all over the country and while I live in South OC I am baffled at what golf courses charge relative to the experience. One golf course that I will remain nameless had the %$^&$'s to charge well over $100 while I was forced to watch the cart guys play hacky sack while I lugged my bag in from the parking lot, I then walked into the golf shop and had to wait for the golf pro to get off of his cell phone while he was arguing with his girlfriend so I could check in. And by the way attempted to make me feel privileged that I was playing his glorious course.

Long story short.... I include Shorecliifs into my rotation quite often and have always found the course to be fun, challenging and constantly improving. Is it Pebble Beach?? NO!! but it is a place we can go to enjoy a fun day of golf, play a unique layout and have a cold beer and tell lies with your buddies at the end of the day. And oh yea I still have change left over from my $100 bill.

I have been playing Shorecliifs since 1989 and I have never seen an improvement like I have at Shorecliffs over the past few years. Let's give theses guys a break...

Good course. played last month in the Turks tournament and was pleased with the conditions. It looks like the championship tee box on #3 is nearing completion and the greens are rolling tru and fast.

Played Shorecliffs last weekend. I chime in every so often and feel obligated to correct the last golfer. Shorecliffs is a great value for the money. If you want to get gouged go and play one of those fancy OC golf courses. If you want value, fun and challenge play Shorecliffs.

Shorecliffs tests your game and will offer all you want. Why have many of the holes been featured over the years as some of the best in OC. I can teel you that the previous golf is in the minority, The word on the street is that Shorecliffs is a quality golf course that continues to improve.

I have no plans to play elsewhere and neither should you.

I agree with the last lady. Shorecliffs Golf Course is a smokin deal and great value for the money. Does eveyone forget that we just had nearly 30+ inches of rain. Even some of the most exclusive and high profile golf courses such as La Costa were closed for days after the rains. Guess what Shoreclifffs kept on trucking along.

I know someone that works for the management company that leases Shorecliffs and he told me that Shorecliffs is not for sale and that they will continue making improvements once the weather gets better.

We should all be so lucky that we do not own a golf course during this terrible rain season. Lets let the professionals do their job and as golfers lets enjoy the fruits of their labor. I can tell you that our friends at Shorecliffs have not lost sight of the fact that they will remain committed to providing an affordable golf alternative.

I have been playing Shorecliffs since 1985 and have no intention playing elsewhere.

Played Westridge over the holidays and was very pleased. I felt the course conditions were excellent.
I read many of the previous comments regarding the course conditions. They installed a new super just a couple of months ago and he has done wonders. We must all remember that a golf course is a living, breathing entity and that the condition can ebb and flow due to conditions beyond anyones control (frost, heavy rains, heat). I play Westridge at leat 2 times per month and have no desire to play elsewhere.

Not quite sure which golf course KGB played. I played Shorecliffs Golf Course over the holidays and it is in the best condition I have ever seen it (I have been playing Shorecliffs since 1989). You can't believe the changes since this time last year, the management company "Pacific Golf Enterprises" brought in a new fleet of carts, new golf course maintenance equipment and are in the process of improving the bunkers. I enjoy playing this golf course so much I purchased a "Fun Pass" which allows me to play unlimited golf for the whole year. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to Orange County's best kept secret.

Played Westridge this weekend and was extremely pleased with the course conditions. We normally play golf at Shorecliffs in San Clemente and decided to drive a little further north.

Both Shorecliffs and Westridge are managed by Pacific Golf Enterprises and we heard that the super that turned Shorecliffs around was transfered to Westridge a couple of weeks ago.

The fairways seem to be dramatically improved and the greens have come a long way since the new super arrived.

It is nice to see that hard work and attention to details are not forgotten by some management companies. I look forward to playing Westridge again very soon.

Thank you Pacific Golf for putting the customer first!!!!

My wife and I just moved to the area and were plesed to find a golf course that truly cares about it's customers. We played on a Saturday morning and was pleased to find a green fee around $50.00 with cart. It is nearly impossible to play golf in OC for anywhere near that rate.

We spoke to a number of locals and they explained that the new management company has been extremely proactive in improving the conditions of the golf course. During our visit they recently unveiled a renovated #16 which included new bunkers and newly turfed areas and mounding. When we checked in the golf shop staff members were overly gracious and proud when they told us that we would be taking a new golf cart out for the first time. Apparently they just recieved a brand new fleet of golf carts.

Our morning continued with an early morning snack in the snack bar. "Red" a jovial Shorecliffs employee encouraged us to try his "Quick and d%mn Good" breakfast sandwich and it truly was.

With the alternatives we are faced with in Orange County We would strongly reccomend Shorecliffs Golf Course to anybody and everybody we know.

As I mentioned earlier It truly feels as though the staff and management of Shorecliffs cares about the customer and from what we can tell is one of the only golf courses we have played in the past 6 months that is proactively improving the conditions and playing experience.
