Wine Valley is located in the middle of treeless wheat fields in southeastern Washington. No development around it. 18 holes of the finest golf in the state spread over 235 acres. Although the soil is not true links soil, the course is links-style. I putted from 20-30 yards off the green. Tight fairway lies. Generous fairways that don't have much rough - just the wheat fields. Very large and very undulating greens as fast as you can handle. Lots of waste areas. Bunkers with not sand but "Missoula mud" in them. Cannot play it like a normal sand shot. Whispy flying dust after the moisture is dried out of it by noon. Yes, this course is not conveniently located - it is an hours drive from Richland - but you will not be disappointed. Try the stay and play package at the Marcus Whitman hotel in Walla Walla and enjoy the great dining and endless wine shops and wineries in the area. One of my two favorite courses in the state.
