Played 7/14/24 with a buddy we are regulars at River ridge. American golf has done it again. They have figured out a way to make this course mediocre at best again. It is the middle of summer and should be nice weather to grow grass but they have burned out more than half the greens and have let all the fairway grass grow dormant. Very sad what they have done to this course. They were not selling range balls at 8:30 am because the range picker was not working.

Walked the whites yesterday, started out the driving range did not open till 8:30, so with an 8:00 tee time the free range balls aren't a plus, the course still seems to have drainage problems, but they seem to be working on it. Fairways were ok, still bare spots and uneven lies, and were very soggy in some spots. Greens were receptive and in very good shape and rolled well. Was not in ant bunkers. P.O.P. was 4:20. Very crowded everyone was riding so if you play in the afternoon carts will be hard to come by. For the price $43 with lunch included is a good deal.

I agree with previous reviewer, less than one month in and American Golf has already screwed up River ridge, greens were bumpy, slow and showing bare spots. Fairways were OK and bunkers were fine. Some tee boxes look like they haven't been cut in a week. I am guessing we will be seeing 5 somes out there soon. This is a sad situation, this was the gem of Ventura!

Played last Sunday. Course was in fantastic shape. Tee boxes were flat and in great shape. Fairways were cut tight but every lie in the fairways were great. Greens were receptive and rolled very well. POP was about 4.5 hours teed off at 826. A great day.
