My wife and two friends played on 10/11. I don't know when the greens were aerated but, all putts bounced 3 or 4 times on the way to the hole. The course was very soggy; Lots of very wet areas around. It rained the previous day but, only a little. I suspect the course had been overwatered before the rain or poor drainage.

The terrain is very pretty with nice looks to many of the holes. We all felt that it was silly to have the golf cart. This is a course meant to walk. ( I think they all are )

During the first 4 or 5 holes, we were overanalyzed, scrutinized and berated by marshalls with walkie talkies. Ridiculous. We were moving along fine. On the second hole, 3 of us hit well left. Being a " cart paths only " hole, we let the group behind us go through. The first 2 holes were " cart paths only ". By the time we reached the 3rd green a marshall was on us and we hadn't slowed anyone down. Worse, he suggested that my wife shouldn't be playing Callippe because he watched her hit a few poor shots. What a jerk ! She hits the ball very well. We know how to keep up and are not serious appraisers of every shot. Nevermind we were called to the tee a full 15 minutes befor our tee time for no given reason other than there was an accident on the highway. The next hole, another guy with a walkie talkie at the green tells us were a hole behind but again, were not holding anyone up. Its silly to enforce an unreasonable pace of play. We were all pretty upset at this point. Yes, upset and for the first time in a 38 year golfing career, I felt like leaving after 9 holes. As the round progressed of course, we waited on many holes for the group we had let through.

These guys were way overzealous and out of line. We all agreed we'd never, ever felt like that on any golf course EVER ! Just terrible.

Overall I say this course was pretty good. Some interesting looks especially on the par 3's. It was VERY soggy which I thought was unusual. Later on , I found out why it was so soggy. A mtnce worker turned a bank of sprinklers on just ahead of us, on the tee. I had to block the sprinkler so my partner could hit the tee shot. You might say this is necessary to keep the course from dry damage, but it wasn't. I noticed some of the sprinkler heads he turned on were set too low and they were watering an already swampy area around the head.

I prefer a course with trees but, the naturally hilly terrain keeps the course interesting. The greens rolled pretty well.

About the 3rd hole I noticed the tire of our cart was very low. We alerted the drink woman who then radioed into the shop and told us another cart would be brought out. It never was. We switched carts at the turn. Lucky for us, the tire held up.

This is a very nice facility, great hot dogs and a pretty good course though its not my favorite style.

Another word about maintenance which I'll preface and say, there is a lot of acreage to maintain out here. On the ninth hole, I pulled an iron shot left but, not too far left, of the green. I was looking for the ball near the water hazard running along the left and back of the green. A very large limb of a tree had broken off and was resting in play, near the bank of the hazard near where my ball traveled. The limb had been broken awhile because the mower traced a line around the limb and the grass was grown up inside this area, in play. Just a sign of not caring I felt.

Anyway, it was a fun day, nice course with some rough edges.
