I can't believe how many gnats there were constantly flying in my face and under the brim of my hat. The fairway clippings were blown only about 5- 10 feet off the fairway, and in some cases the clippings were still on the fairways- very sloppy. We teed off at about 6:40 (although my tee time was 6:52- I barely pay and they are already calling me up to the tee box- I had to scramble to put on my shoes and sneak in a few practice putts). It took about 4 hours and 15 minutes to play on a Friday morning. The greens are soft on the approach shots, but the putts play like glass. I liked the snack shop before hole 12 (it allowed for a quick bite without running into a clubhouse). There isn't much water and only a moderate amount of sand traps. All-in-all, Brookside #1 is an attractive course, but the distractions and sloppy clippings totally distracted me.
