They usually have specials going on for a much more reasonable rate. Course is in really good shape, greens are rolling very well. The wind always blows here, so be prepared. Also, freeway noise is less of a distraction on Valley than it is on Tournament.
My biggest gripe about this place is the customer service. They give a vibe that you're lucky to be playing there. There's this one guy in the pro shop that I just cannot stand, I think his name is Mike. For instance, they have a web special going on atm, Mon-Wed $38 walk / $55 ride. I get there today with my dad to check in and the guy asks me if I have the coupon. I tell him my buddy has already checked in with the coupon and that it's good for the foursome. He proceeds to tell me very rudely that we need a coupon for every member, which is complete BS, then acts like he's doing me a favor by giving me the coupon rate. Our 4th checked in after we left, and the lady working there told him one coupon for the foursome, go figure. Only reason I played here was to prep for an upcoming tournament.
I'll spend my time at Cinnabar Hills. Better course, better people.

Played here on Superbowl Sunday. Course was EMPTY! We finished in a little over 3 hours. The course was still very soggy from the recent rains, but was still very playable. Hole #2 is a beast! Walker friendly and not very difficult, but fun to play. I'm not going to comment on the course conditions due to the recent rain. It was a very windy day, so I didn't notice the noise from HWY 101. Overall it was a good experience, I wouldn't hesitate to come back.
Absolutely fantastic! Paid $70/player with their email club special. Greens were still a little bumpy from aerification awhile back, but I didn't care, the views were amazing. Holes 16, 17, and 18 were awesome, playing right alongside the ocean. Customer service, conditioning, everything was top notch. We were blessed with the weather today, not too windy or cold. An absolute must play in the Bay Area.
Played here once, probably won't make the drive to play again. I'll start with the good. Customer service, conditioning, pace of play was all very good here when I played. The bad: layout is quirky, waaay too many blind shots from the tips. It's like playing target golf w/out being able to see any targets. Also didn't see a halfway house or beverage cart for something to drink, so bring water with you when you play. I'm only staying away because of the layout.
Played today, 8/21. This place is usually in excellent shape, but today, the greens were yuck. All of the greens look like they're recovering from either being mowed too close or fungus or something, but they are almost unplayable at the moment. Don't play here for at least a month until the greens are fully recovered.
An absolute must play in the Bay Area. It helps if you're an NCGA member, you get a nice discount. Has a very links-y feeling to it, not alot of trees, and wind will almost always be a factor. Tough to walk, but not impossible. I made the mistake of carrying my bag, next time I'll take a push cart.
Played for the first time on 7/16/07. Very good layout, nice mix of holes. Pace of play was also good. Greens need alot of work, very inconsistent speeds and a bit bumpy.
Played the tournament course twice, probably won't be going back any time soon. Don't get me wrong, the tournament course is a great layout, but the experience is not. VERY noisy...tournament course is adjacent to HWY 101. The first time I played there, we were on pace for a 5hr 30min round on a weekday, but next thing we know, course staff drives group to group handing out free vouchers for golf, apologizing for the slow play, a VERY cool move on their part. My second time there, finished in under 4 hours, so pace of play is hit and miss here. IMO it's not worth the money.
DO NOT shell out the money for the valley course, it's just an overpriced muni.

One of my favorite courses in the South Bay. I can't really think of anything negative about this course. Friendly staff, great course conditions, quiet, not over-crowded. Play their early bird special, $59 w/ cart Mon-Thurs before 9am...great deal.
Played on Monday 7/9/07. Course was in decent condition. Greens a little bumpy, alot of soggy/overwatered areas. Bunkers/fairways were in good shape. Took me 5hrs 20min to complete my round...on a MONDAY. Sweet group of ladies behind us said it's not usually that slow, but I'm wary about heading back there.
I love almost everything about this course. Great pace of play, great layout. My only criticism is with the bunkers. They are horrible, you don't even need a rake half the time because you don't leave any footprints. But every other aspect of this course is top notch.
Course itself is relatively bland. A walker's course as it is very very flat. It's in good shape this year, conditions are good. The thing that keeps me coming back, however, is the staff. They are quite simply, awesome.
