We had 82 Golf Course Superintendent's from around the L.A. and Palm Springs area play here yesterday. Many of them from very exclusive facilities. They were very impressed and complimentary with the conditions of the golf course. My peers don't make comments like this if they don't believe in them. Oh, by the way, I shot 68 from the blue tees and was two for two getting up and down out of the bunkers.

The golf course is starting the renovation process of the bunkers. They will be adding new sand, repairing animal damage, and redefining the edges.

I wish to address the condition of the bunkers. Because of the delopement surrounding the property, heavy rodent infestation has been a concern on the golf course. This is especially true on the bunker faces. This activity has caused soil contaimination in the bunkers and when mixed with the sand can sometimes make the bunkers surfaces hardpaned. Also, with this year's heavy rain events, some bunkers were silted in by material that came from the perimeter developement. Many of these bunkers had to be rebuilt. This has caused inconsistancies from the rebuilt bunkers to the original ones. Our plans are to renovate our bunkers when the opportunity lends itself. We appreciate your comments and look forward to serving you in the future. We at the PGA want your golfing experience to be a pleasant one. Thank you! Sincerely, Paul Mayes, Director of Golf Course Maintenance

I think an explanation of the condition of the bunkers should be addressed. The new developement around the golf course has caused an increase of rodent activity on the golf course. This is especially true in the faces of the bunkers. This activity has caused a contamination of the sand with native soil. This condition can sometime make the bunker surfaces hardpaned. Also, with recent rains and because of bare soils around the perimeter of the golf course that is caused by the housing developement, we have experienced soil runoff contamination in our bunkers and on the golf course. Some of these bunkers had to be rebuilt, therefore creating inconsistancies from the newly rebuilt bunkers compared to the original ones. The plan from here forward is to refreshen all bunkers and repair rodent damage when the opportunity lends itself to do so. Completion of developement around the golf course will facilitate this process. Here at the PGA, we strive for customer satisfaction. Your comments are greatly appreciated and we will continue to improve the facility for your pleasure. Thank you and we look forward to your repeat bussiness! Sincerely, Paul Mayes, Director of Golf Course Maintenance
