I played at Los Serranos North a few weeks ago (Feb 6) and the greens were in amazing condition. It may have been because the qualifying for the Northern Trust was coming up, but they were smooth and very fast and firm. Fairways are still a bit thin but overall the course was in decent shape for February. The staff here is always friendly and helpful.

Hi everyone. I played the golf course today to get a feel for what the customer will experience. Tee boxes are in very good shape, fairways in above average condition for the time of the year except for our usual trouble spots. Greens are coming back from the first half of aerification nicely. All holes will be cut on the smooth portion of the green so that you never have to putt anything close to the hole through sand and bumps. In fact, there is very little sand left on the greens at this point.

We are offering an aerification special exclusively through greenskeeper.org! Print out this message and bring it to the pro shop to play for $39 with cart Monday through Thursday after 10am. One email is valid for up to four players and cannot be used for tournaments, leagues, clubs, or group outings. This offer is valid through 4/22/10.

Hello. I wanted to tell everyone about some recent progress we have made in the course conditions here at Rancho San Joaquin. We take the comments and feedback from our regular customers and posters here at Greenskeeper very seriously. I appreciate everyone who has taken the time to play the course and also post a review.

We recently added 25,000 square feet of new sod to the fairways of holes #1 and #18 to address thin and bare areas on those two holes. I believe that this has really increased the playablity of both holes as well as made them more aesthetically pleasing.

In addition, we have spent a lot of time working on the quality of our bunkers. We have been using some new machinery that has helped us distribute the sand more evenly as well pull down the sand from the upslopes to make a better base for anyone who unfortunately finds the sand. Edging of the bunkers is looking great as well.

The greens here at Rancho have survived a hot summer. Many people do not know that we had a four day stretch in the middle of the summer when a power outage in our area prohibited us from running our irrigation (watering the course). The greens today are looking and rolling much better than they have in months.

Currently, we are working on improving the on-course restrooms, and are considering some heavy work on the #2 tee box.

Come join us soon while the weather is incredible. We have a great "All you can play" special on Mondays after 10am for only $49.

Please feel free to send your comments or questions about Rancho San Joaquin to me via your Greenskeeper mailbox. Thank you all for your time, we hope to see you soon!

Thanks to all who have posted about Lake Forest. I would like to clarify some information in the last post. The NightOwl rate at the course continues to be $8 per player after 8pm, not $12 as posted. We are also currently offering the $8 rate an hour early at 7pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday as a Fall special. You can go to the movies for $8 or get some nice fresh air and a round of golf for the same price. At 7pm, you will definitely finish 9 holes, and we think this is a great deal. There aren't many places where you can tee it up at 7pm on a Friday night!

Most of our rates remain unchanged, and there are always great ways to save by booking online, being a member of our email list, or by joining the Southern California Golfers Club.

As far as the range is concerned, the course adds about 10,000 new range balls every month. If you ever have a problem with ball quality, feel free to bring the bad balls to the pro shop and we will gladly switch them out for better balls.

Thank you all for playing at Lake Forest, please stop by the golf shop sometime to say hello. We always appreciate feedback from our players.
