Bali Hai is emblematic of Las Vegas; they make something look like something else but it's not. Similar to Paris, Luxor, or the Venetian hotels. The illusion is that you're playing golf at a South Seas Island resort. Actually the layout of the course is interesting and challenging, however the billboards advertising all you can eat buffets, the noise from the freeway and jets taking off directly above kind of defeat the illusion. I would never have played there but was able to negotiate a "reduced" rate of $175. No bargain, especially with the greens bumpy and slow. If the course was actually isolated from the pre-mentioned distractions it would be a real treat.

Although I like the new course, and it is completely new, I was a bit disappointed with the layout. As stated previously, the greens and tees are in great shape, and the links style is different than I've played previously. My criticism is that many of the holes seem similar; there is not a lot of variety. Many holes look the same. However there are some very interesting holes, just not enough of them.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, the practice facility is top notch, and the greens on the course are huge. The course is fun to play and I will be back...it just seems that the designer could have had a little more imagination.

Greens were in good condition and relatively fast for this course. It's in good shape

Ojai is always a treat. The scenery is gorgeous, golf conditions excellent, and the variety of holes interesting. Call to find out their "golf Ojai" days for reduced green fees.
