What a tremendous layout this golf course has. A true links style course with SUPER undulating greens spread out all over the course. Tee boxes and fairways were in good to great shape but sadly, wild hogs had tore up some of the tee boxes but they too were still playable. The only concern I have was with the greens and the spacking of grass on them. It appeared as though the course was still in its infant stage with some hole having slow greens and others rocket fast. Consistency was lacking and made for a very difficult put considering the design of the greens. At one point I felt I was on a Putt-Putt course the lacked a windmill or waterfall. #7 green was almost impossible to hold a ball on with its 6' drop, #10 had a huge valley running thru the center of it and #14 had what appeared to be huge breast in the center of the green!! Every green had its own aura and personality. I can only remmebr one green that was semi flat without 45 degrees of wavy greens. It was awesome!! I cant wait to go back when they have puttable greens in the summer.
They were in the midst of re-applying sand drainage in the bunkers so all were considered off limits if you ended up in one. A new pool at the clubhouse was also being constructed, should be spectacular when its completed.
On a scale of 1-10 I would give it a 7 due to new greens and rebuilding the sand traps. I can see that becoming a 10 by next summer.
At over 7600 yards from the tips, it is a Texas size golf course, well done Freddy!!
