Southern Dunes is an exceptional value playing in August as I did. This course use to be private club and it shows. No houses in sight, just pure golf. It is kept in very good condition, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The fairways are large with generous landing areas for those less than perfect tee shots, and this is a fun and challenging layout. Most of the greens are well protected by bunkers, but they all have logical bailout areas for those attempting to play safe. They have a really nice practice area as well as a clubhouse and grill.
