Golf Course Reviews: California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Florida, Hawaii!Played week of 11-17-03. The course is in fine condition. The surrounding hills are reduced to ashes. Burning embers must have fallen on the course, but I saw not one sign of any damage to the greens or fairways. The smell of the fire damage (especially along the holes across the creek from the clubhouse) is strong. Ohter than that, it was as much fun to play as usual. If the off-limit "environmentally sensitive areas" can bounce back from all the fire damage, I think they'll survive footsteps from a few golfers.
Aeration holes are still knocking putts off line. The greens need a few weeks to recover.
Several tee boxes recently aerated causing biting knats to hover as you hit. The greens are close to fully recovering from the aeration.
