Went out today, Sunday 11/26 sometime around 11:00 am. To put it very briefly and consistent with recent reviews, course is in good shape all around. Fairways generally offered good lies with some occasional, thinner exceptions. There were bare, hard patches scattered about, but they were pretty consistently marked as GUR, so they weren't an issue. Bunkers were well groomed and firm-ish, while the greens were moderately quick and in nice shape. The various residual aspects of maintenance seem to have been cleared up and everything is mown and where it's supposed to be. Pace was sluggish but consistent and probably approaching 5 hrs. All in all, an enjoyable day on the course.

Played today prior to 2 tournaments. Got out early and played in 2.5 H. I will address the tees as previous review was not fond of them, as well as myself from a previous review. Today they had all been mowed and tee markers back in proper places. All of the tees appeared good today. Greens were mowed and putted very well. Fairways mowed and provided good lies and roll all round. Bunkers were all cleaned by maintenance this AM as well. Customer service is always excellent and the Birdies restaurant is a great place to grab breakfast/lunch, as full menu available all day.

A friend of mine wanted to play here, and although I'd played here not all that long ago, I was more than willing to return. I really enjoy this short course! I find some of the holes interesting and rather charming. Overall the course is in nice condition, except for some of the tees. Greens/fairways were the best part.

Generally this place is super busy in the morning, but it wasn't too bad. We were out early so no issues with pace of play. Staff is always very pleasant. Beautiful morning to play golf.

POP this AM was 2.5 H. Got off early and was pleasantly surprised that maintenance was out ahead at a great pace. Greens were all mowed and the aeration and recent light rains, have them in very nice shape. Tee boxes are still not 100% recovered from aeration, so many blue markers are situated at the black SCGA markers (not all) and white/red are combined (hopefully they will be back in place soon?). Fairways are in very nice shape, providing good lies and roll. Bunkers are dry and playable. Little to no rough to deal with. Customer service excellent at all levels.

Played 10/31. POP was 3 H. Course is in overall good shape. Tee boxes are still recovering from aeration; fairways were more green than brown and provided good lies and roll. There are numerous wet areas marked as GUR due to carts driving through them? Bunkers are fine and playable (though probably wet with recent rains); greens were in good shape, though not providing much bounce and putted slow, however all recovered from recent aeration. Customer service was excellent at all levels.

For reference, the most recent review for Alhambra was only three days ago, and I posted for the front nine a week ago, so not much has changed and this will be brief. The difference since I was last there is that the greens are now fully recovered. They are generally clean, receptive, run a brisk medium quick and have some subtle, and not so subtle breaks that can make them challenging— really pretty nice. The alert can definitely be removed from the course listings. I did hit one bunker which was firm (not hard) under a thin, looser, top layer of sand. From past experience, that seems typical here. The bunker surfaces are generally kept up and raked. As before, the course wasn't overly busy on a Sunday and I walked up and got right out as a single with a twosome @10:45. Finished in about over 4.5 hours. Slower on the front nine with numerous but relatively brief waits, it opened up on the back nine. Pleasant little course that is well kept up.

Out this morning and glad I got there early. They started aerating the tee boxes, shortly after I teed off (lucky to stay ahead all round). Greens have come back from 9/25-26 aeration very nicely. They chipped and putted well all round, even those that had not been mowed/cleaned yet. Found no issues with fairways, as they provided good lies and roll, throughout. I did see some areas that had deep tire tracks because somebody drove through that area when the ground was wet, but they were marked GUR and posed no issues. I noticed that all the bunkers were still damp from overnight moisture and watering, but as I was lucky to escape all bunkers, not sure how they would play? Little to no rough on the course, but you do have many OB's along fairways and water on # 2 and # 16. All in all, an enjoyable round on a nice course. Customer service excellent at all levels.

Played as a twosome Sunday, 10/15, around noon. Due to my buddy nursing a tweaky back, we only went out for the front nine by design. It's not usually a problem to get out here and we had just walked up and were put right out. It's a little unusual that an 18 hole course gives you a nine hole option during the main part of the day, and that definitely contributed to our choice to play here. I would generally describe the course as good, late summer conditions, particularly with respect to the fairways. While generally pretty decent coverage, there were dryer, thinner patches scattered about that one would probably expect at the end of summer and well past rain season. The grounds crew had marked off many of the more severe spots around the course as GUR, so that helped. I had a layup shot in the fairway that would have been on hardpan had it not been marked as GUR and allowed me a nice, adjacent lie. Tee boxes here are generally flat and covered, although some of the par 3s were a bit more chewed up and required a quick survey to find a good tee spot. On average, rough here tends towards less severe and playable. The greens exhibited the ghost of the aeration pattern visually, but for practical purposes, they are healed. They generally ran true and medium slowish with a couple running a touch firmer and quicker. They were all soft and receptive to incoming shots, leaving deep pitch marks. I don't think my ball was more than a foot from it's pitch mark on any green I hit. I avoided the bunkers, so no comment there. A foursome of one adult and three kids had us play through on the second fairway and we played in a bubble from then on, with the forward group a couple of holes ahead, and no-one pressing from behind. In the past, even as a single on a weekend, I have sometimes found myself in these pockets. The course was active, but not crowded. The front nine is generally short and flatter than the back nine, so on a warm, low energy day, it fit the bill for an enjoyable, low stress round.

Greens have returned nicely from aerating, but still seem soft, when receiving shots (no real release in them at present). Fairways were fine and provided good lies and roll out. Sand traps looked damp and in need of freshening. Tee boxes were all fine. Customer service was excellent.
