Teed off Friday at 7:30 finishing in 4:10. The course is in overall good condition. The greens were rolling fairly smooth with medium+ speed and played a little firm. The fairways were a little furry so not a lot of roll on tee shots but they had good coverage with some brown spots. The rough was mostly good. There are a few wet spots in the rough where water tends to collect. The bunkers were a little firm but playable. The tee boxes are fair to good mostly due to mild unlevelness. Driving range was open but busy with fewer slots available. Putting green was closed. Always enjoy playing Eldo. Staff was friendly.

Played Eldo with my regular group on 7/8. Early morning 6:30 start and there were a lot of golfers ready to go at that hour. Single carts and finished in 3.5 hours and would have been faster but we followed a group of walkers. No complaints but single carts definitely speed up play. The course is in really nice condition right now. Fairways were really nice. Good lies. The rough was not very thick but it was definitely better to be in fairway. Bunkers were damp but still very playable. The greens were excellent and rolled much faster than the last time I was here. Best I have ever seen them. Noticed some very light sand on them but it had no effect. I find Eldo a challenging track. Maybe if I did a better job of hitting fairways on this day I would feel differently! A lot of trees line the fairways so keep it in the short stuff. Definitely recommend playing here.

Played ElDo Tuesday and got around in under 4 hours. Course is in good to great shape with the only real problem being the sand traps, most hard and not cared for but that is what we deal with in Covid times. Greens were a little bumpy but were rolling well and had some speed to them. Fairways lush and never a bad lie if you were in them. Rough was enough to make you think and had some really thick areas around the greens. Love the layout of this course and it is in good shape right now.

No chipping or putting practice. Course green and lush Kikuyu, and deep rough ... holy crap! Greens were a bit slow for El Do standards but will be better as the crew comes back. Bunkers were not maintained at all so we were forced to play most as GUR. PVC in the cup kept the ball from going all the way to the bottom. Nice to get back out to El Do, see Lawnboy and walk around pretending to play golf ... a bit rusty without being able to hit balls and work on the game. Recommended.

Teed off Thursday morning about 7am and finished in 4 hours. The greens are in good condition. They rolled with medium/fast speed and were firm. Difficult to get short irons to hold. The fairways have good coverage overall with some winter thin spots. The rough was mostly good with some thin/bare spots. The bunkers were in good shape aside from some rocks and people not racking foot prints. The tee boxes had decent coverage and were mildly unlevel in spots. Always enjoy a round at Eldo. Good course with friendly employees.

El Dorado got the call this time around with my monthly golf group, and it was a really fun Saturday out there with the weather cooperating very nicely after a pretty chilly morning on the practice range. Our group always plays the white tees and some walked, but most of the group rode. Price was a pretty steep $71 for that pleasure.

POP was definitely an issue on the day and no marshals around to keep the slow groups in front of us moving. We thought we'd gotten some separation from the group ahead of us after the pile-up at the par 3 3rd hole, but when we got to the par 5 7th, they were just teeing and the group ahead of them was already done with the hole. It was infuriating.

As for the conditions, mostly good all around which is the least one could expect at that price. The fairways were in solid shape with a few thin areas here and there, and a few sections that could use some GUR ropes. Rough was only penal in some areas, so generally a mixed bag. Tee boxes were fine and the sand in the bunkers was playable.

Green speeds were deceptively quick and they were holding shots rather nicely. Nothing too gimmicky or crazy about the greens at El Dorado, but they are going to require your maximum concentration. Speeds varied as the weather got warmer throughout the day, but in general the greens were in darn good shape and fun to play.

The entire round took a little over five and a half hours which is pretty lousy knowing it could have been so much quicker if there was some supervision of slow play. But luckily we had a very fun group and the golf course itself was good fun so it did make the day seem to go much quicker. El Do remains one of the better options in the LBC area.

I used to play Eldo quite frequently when I lived in Westchester, but not so much any more. I have always enjoyed playing here, in part because it is a course that has never treated me very well. (I know that sounds strange, but enjoyed trying to shoot well on a course which I struggle on) Another struggle today, because if you don't hit it straight here, the course just punishes you. Too many boogies !

No complaint as to condition, not great, but hey, it's the middle of winter. Some thin fairways, rough was inconsistent, greens rolled well, although I could not make anything. Two bunkers I found had plenty of sand.

Still not thrilled about paying $41 to walk this course. A bit overpriced in my opinion. Good solid course, despite the cost. One of these days I'll beat this course !

Met some new guys and was invited to join their group today at Eldo. On a very cool morning, had a 7:44 time and got off right on time. Was surprised to see so few folks out there this early. Got there early and while hitting balls on the range, the tee box was open for about 30 minutes. We went off as a fivesome but still finished under 4 hours. It had been a while since I had played here and was looking forward to playing. The fairways are in fairly good shape considering winter, rain, etc. Overall good coverage. A lot of thin spots but still playable. Fairways seemed to get thinner as you got closer to the green on some holes. Bunkers were a bit damp but playable. Some bunkers are pretty deep. The rough was cut down so not a factor. Greens were great. Receptive and rolling pretty fast. Particularly down hill putts. This is a fun course to play. Park like setting and flat course with some doglegs but has numerous trees (and tree roots). Not overly challenging but but some holes have some length. Quite a few fairway bunkers which are strategically placed and definitely come into play. I don’t get out much this way or would definitely be playing here more often. Had a very nice lunch after in their restaurant. Recommend!!
