Had a 930am tee time on a Saturday morning. Got off right on time and the pace of play started off very quickly but slowed significantly the back nine. Still finished in a very welcome 4.5 hours. Considering these LA courses are notorious for being slow I was pleasantly surprised at the pace. It could have easily been a sub four hour round but the slowdown seemed to be because of the several holes with temporary tee boxes. About five holes are playing significantly shorter as they are working on the tee boxes. You'll find two holes that are turned into 240 yard par fours. I didn't mind having to play forward but the tee areas they chose and the maintainance in those areas was horrible. Atrocious and uneven lies and no attempt to more the grass short. And speaking of tee boxes - the regular tee boxes are by far the worst part of of this course. So many are crowned with uneven lies all over the place and inconstancy in the mow height.

The fairways where a pleasant surprise in this drought. Many where quite lush and I can't remember landing in any hard pan areas. The lushness of the fairways seemed be different hole to hole but we're good for this muni throughout. The rough was mowed short and in decent shape. As with these two courses and other Munis in LA you will find some random pot holes in the rough that give a truly unfair lie.

The greens are healing nicely from the punching and I would expect them to be fully healed within a week. I was sad to see a barrage of in repaired ball marks on some of the greens. Come on folks! Don't be lazy.

They are still finishing up installing some of the new cart paths but it seems like they should be done soon. The areas around the new cart paths have not been seeded so they are still hate dirt.

Overall a pleasant day at this course. My opinion of this place differs round to round but I'll be back.

Played on 5-31-15, Sunday afternoon at 3 pm. Got on quickly off the wait-list for a twilight rate, and played in a foursome with a POP of 4 hours flat, with minimal waiting, if at all during the round. Conditions were solid throughout; level tee boxes, smooth-ish greens; decent sand in the bunkers; and lush fairways. Some dry spots on fairways where you generally shouldn't be. Overall, I was quite impressed with the conditions and pace of play.

We played here on Memorial Day. The air was thick with very little wind and a cloud covered skies. It made the day very comfortable.

We played here on Memorial Day. The air was thick with very little wind and a cloud covered skies. It made the day very comfortable.

The greens were almost fully recovered from the recent aeration, but it was a bit bumpy at times. The sand in the bunkers had a nice quality in it, the folks who plays there just needs to smooth them and use the rakes. The fairways were mostly okay from the unusual or what looks like could be a grounds under repair spots. There were two teeing grounds being repaired, the #1 & #18, but none of them were in quality conditions though good enough to tee it from. Despite the lesser quality course that this is and its higher greens fee rate, I would still come back to play it if I haven't lived so far.

Oh, there are new cement cart paths under construction in some holes.

Walked on as a single on Saturday, April 4. The course was more crowded than usual (Saturday before Easter) but I was on the tee about 25 minutes after I arrived. Teed off at 6:45 and played in 3:40. We had to wait on the group in front of us some but an excellent pace overall. I walked - the course is relatively flat with some uphill between holes. I was worried about water rationing on the first hole which was very dry with the rough shaved. The rough had been very lush when I played here last month. For whatever reason, the rest of the course was normally watered and in good shape. There were occasional thin lies on the fairways but the rough was a factor and there was good coverage of grass. The sand was soft but the ball came out okay. The greens were medium speed and rolled well. I like the greens even if I did three putt more often than usual.

Overall, it was a good golf experience. $45 to walk, professional personable staff, good conditions, great pace of play. I also played with a nice threesome who seemed to be enjoying the morning as much as I was. The way golf should be but often is not!

10 am starting time Wednesday 03/18 got out a little early as a 2some , picked-up a single after #2
and played as three the rest of the way. P.O.P. may have been slow for a weekday but,I was in the car at 2:45. course conditions are very good for L.A. City muni. Greens are in as good shape as they get, (airification in 2 or 3 weeks) over all I was pleased with the course, hope to return before maintenance starts.

Played this morning around 7:00. It was a matter of timing. We had a later tee time but with rain in forecast we got there early and the starter was able to accommodate us. We played in 3:45. We had two open holes behind us after the 10th hole, so those behind us did not have as good a POP. The course was in pretty good shape. The fairways were fairly thin and firm but still a decent hitting surface. The rough was cut low so not much of a factor. No info on the bunkers, fortunately. The tee boxes were good. The greens were excellent. Medium speed at the start and faster as the morning went along.

They are putting in sections of cart paths where it was dirt before. They are fairly advanced on 17 and 18. 17 was playing from the most forward tee and 18 was playing from the fairway about 50-60 yards in front of the tee boxes (guessing on distance). I assume there will be rolling changes on tee locations as the project progresses through the course.

One interesting event this morning. When we were on 2 or 3, on the other side of the road from the clubhouse, there was a tremendous crack sound. A tree fell across the road. Did not look like anyone was hurt, which was amazing considering the pedestrian and vehicular traffic on the road. Anyway, the road was still closed when we were finishing our round.

Maintenance Alert: Harding surprised all of us on 2/11/15 with what looks like a mini-aeration. It would have been nice if the starters had mentioned the conditions of the greens BEFORE taking our $$. Overall, the rest of the course is playing good to very good condition. Despite the punched greens, some were able to maintain a semblance of a putting surface on the few holes where the maintenance crew was able to at least sweep off the dirt plugs. Best to give this place at least a week or two to heal up.

Played on 1/19 with a tee time around 9:30 am. It took us around 4 1/2 hours to play 18. Not bad for a holiday. First time for me to play the front tees. Not sure I like it. I like the yardage but I didn't care for the tee boxes. Most of the forward teeing area was just a flat area cut ahead of old regular teeing area.

Course conditions were fair to good for this time of area. There was good coverage on the fairways. Tho' there were some bare and yellow spots. Greens were in great shape. Bunkers were decent. Sometimes the sand in the bunkers were a little thin. This course is still one of my favorite courses to play.
